Responsibilities:

Manage customer orders and inquiries.
Review customer specifications and applicable codes.
Determine the type of materials needed and any special requirements for fabrication projects, using customer drawings and/or in-house drafting programs.
Calculate labour hours for individual and assembly fabrication components.
Prepare Bill of Material for fabrication projects.
Liaise and obtain quotes for material and sub-contractors for requirements in terms of pricing and delivery, follow-up if necessary.
Prepare cost estimates for pressure vessel, piping, structural elements, and assemblies on assigned proposals under the guidance of the sales and project departments; and forwarding to Proposal Manager for any bid submissions.
Update pricing in software database to ensure more accurate estimates for new projects.
Actively participate in the development of new tools and procedures for estimates.
Coordinate with shop team for current projects schedule and delivery.
Any other duties as needed.

Qualifications:

Minimum of 1 to 2 years experience estimating with fabrication projects.
Graduated from Mechanical or Engineering Design and Drafting Technologies.
Ability to compile estimates both manually and via estimating software applications.
General knowledge of welding shop, fit up and NDE procedures.
Ability to prioritize activities, adapt to change, and stay focused in a dynamic environment.
Proficient in MS Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Outlook, Teams, Acad, Nesting software
Strong time management and organizational skills.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Exceptional interpersonal skills and ability to interact with customers and all levels of staff.
Demonstrate sensitivity and discretion when working with confidential information.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $20.00-$30.00 per hour
