Position Summary:
The Material Handler is a key member assisting the Shipper/Receiver and operations team, responsible for the efficient and accurate handling of inbound and outbound shipments, inventory control, and material handling. This role demands an organized, detail-oriented individual capable of multitasking in a dynamic environment. The successful candidate will demonstrate a strong work ethic, dedication to safety and quality, and the ability to excel both individually and as a team member.
Key Responsibilities:
- Safely operate material handling equipment, including loaders, forklifts, and cranes.
- Manage the receipt, storage, and dispatch of tools and parts, ensuring timeliness and accuracy.
- Verify the accuracy of deliveries against vendor slips.
- QC checks and serial number stamping on incoming parts
- Create Service Jackets using Barreleye ERP (SimX) for returned field tools
- Maintain inventory control and stockroom organization.
- Conduct regular stock checks and participate in inventory audits.
- Prepare and process shipping documents, including packing lists, and bills of lading.
- Conducting daily pre-use inspections of equipment and specialized tools
- Perform basic repairs and servicing on Material handling equipment
- Ensure compliance with safety standards and maintain a clean and organized shop and yard environment.
- Provide support to management and collaborate with other departments to improve operational efficiency.
- Handle various additional duties as assigned to support the company’s operations and goals.
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Required: Experience in shipping and receiving.
- Preferred: 3 years in Downhole Oilfield Tools.
- Experience with wheeled loaders, forklifts, and powered cranes.
- Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
Skills:
- Exceptional attention to detail and critical thinking
- Strong organizational and time management capabilities.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform bending, crouching, kneeling.
- Scheduled on-call rotation for after-hours shipments.
- Professional demeanor and ability to remain calm under pressure.
Schedule:
- Monday-Friday (8 hour day shifts)
- Afterhours and weekends as needed
Additional Requirements:
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- Scheduled on-call rotation for after-hours shipments.
- Ability to work flexible hours; including weekends if required
- Knowledge of downhole oilfield equipment is beneficial.
