We're looking for a skilled Cell Phone Repair Technician to join our retail repair team in Downtown Toronto.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys diagnosing hardware issues, repairing electronic devices, and delivering outstanding customer service. You'll primarily work on smartphones while also supporting laptop repair and refurbishment activities.

What You'll Be Working On
Your daily work will typically consist of:
- 70% Smartphone Repairs
- 30% Laptop Repairs
This is a hands-on technical role involving complete repair cycles - from diagnosing faults to returning fully functional devices to customers.
Key Responsibilities
o Diagnose hardware faults on iPhones and Android smartphones
o Perform complete repair cycles including diagnosis, disassembly, repair, testing and reassembly
o Replace and repair smartphone components including:
- Screens
- Batteries
- Charging ports
- Cameras
- Speakers
- Microphones
- Buttons
- Face ID / fingerprint-related components (where applicable)
- Flex cables
- Housing and frame components
o Perform component-level micro-soldering and board-level repairs where required
o Diagnose motherboard faults and perform appropriate repairs or component replacements
o Perform functional testing and quality checks before returning repaired devices
o Carry out Level 2 laptop repairs including:
- Hardware diagnostics
- Screen replacements
- Keyboard replacements
- Battery replacements
- SSD/RAM upgrades
- Charging port and DC jack replacements
- Other modular component replacements
o Maintain accurate repair records and documentation
o Handle repair tools and equipment safely while maintaining a clean and organized workstation
o Assist customers by explaining repair findings, turnaround times, and available solutions professionally
What We're Looking For
We're looking for someone who enjoys repairing technology and takes pride in high-quality workmanship.
Required Experience
- Proven experience repairing both iPhones and Android smartphones
- Strong hands-on experience completing full-cycle phone repairs independently
- Experience diagnosing hardware faults and determining appropriate repair solutions
- Hands-on experience with component replacement and micro-soldering
- Good understanding of smartphone motherboard architecture and board-level repairs
- Experience using professional repair tools and equipment
- Experience performing Level 2 laptop repairs and component replacements
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced repair environment
- Previous retail repair or customer-facing technical service experience
- Strong communication and customer service skills
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with one or more of the following is considered an asset:
- Board-level diagnostics and repair
- Data transfer and recovery
- BIOS troubleshooting on laptops
- Apple or Android repair certifications
- Experience working in refurbishment or high-volume repair environments
