Our client is seeking a safety-focused and mechanically inclined apprentice who is eager to gain hands-on experience maintaining industrial equipment in a fast-paced production environment.
This is an excellent opportunity to work alongside experienced tradespeople while developing your skills with modern manufacturing equipment and preventative maintenance programs.
What You'll Do
As a Millwright Apprentice, you will support the maintenance team by performing preventative and corrective maintenance on a variety of industrial equipment while ensuring a safe and efficient operation.
Your responsibilities will include:

Perform preventative maintenance on production equipment to reduce downtime and improve equipment reliability.

Troubleshoot and repair mechanical equipment and industrial machinery.

Assist with diagnosing equipment failures and identifying opportunities to improve equipment performance.

Perform emergency and scheduled maintenance as required.

Read and interpret mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical schematics.

Work with PLC-controlled machinery and automated production equipment.

Complete work orders accurately and maintain detailed maintenance records.

Follow manufacturer specifications and internal maintenance procedures.

Maintain compliance with all Health & Safety policies, environmental regulations, and company procedures.

Participate in equipment lockout/tagout procedures, hazard identification, and emergency response activities.

Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
What We're Looking For
-
Currently registered as a 443A Industrial Mechanic (Millwright) Apprentice.

Completed approximately 1-3 years of apprenticeship hours.

In-class apprenticeship training completed to date is considered a strong asset.

Registered with Skilled Trades Ontario.

Previous experience maintaining industrial manufacturing equipment.

Experience troubleshooting mechanical systems; exposure to PLC-controlled equipment is an asset.

Ability to read and interpret mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical drawings.

Comfortable working rotating day and night shifts (8-12 hour shifts).

Strong mechanical aptitude and analytical problem-solving skills.

Experience using computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) or other maintenance software is an asset.

Committed to maintaining a safe workplace and following all health and safety procedures.

Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively within a team environment.
