Controller / Senior Bookkeeper (Part-Time)

3 Days per Week | In Office | 8:30 AM – 4:00 PM

We are an established residential home builder and multi-unit developer seeking an experienced Controller / Senior Bookkeeper to oversee the accounting functions for multiple corporations.

This is a hands-on, part-time position for a highly organized accounting professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and has exceptional reconciliation skills.

Responsibilities

Manage full-cycle bookkeeping for multiple corporations.
Perform bank, credit card, general ledger, and intercompany reconciliations.
Prepare monthly financial statements and supporting schedules.
Manage accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and HST filings.
Maintain the general ledger and prepare journal entries.
Assist with job costing for residential and multi-unit construction projects.
Monitor cash flow and provide financial reporting to management.
Prepare year-end working papers and coordinate with external accountants.
Ensure accurate financial records and maintain strong internal controls.

Qualifications

Minimum 5 years of experience as a Senior Bookkeeper or Controller.
Extensive reconciliation experience is essential.
Experience in residential home building, construction, or real estate is strongly preferred.
Experience managing accounting for multiple corporations.
Strong knowledge of full-cycle accounting and financial reporting.
Proficiency with accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and able to work independently.

Position Details

Part-time: 3 days per week
In-office only
Hours: 8:30 AM – 4:00 PM
Competitive compensation based on experience.
