We are seeking an experienced CPA-designated finance leader to oversee the Canadian finance function, including financial reporting, controls, compliance, and transactional finance. This role will lead a high-performing team, strengthen governance and reporting practices, drive continuous improvement initiatives, and partner with business leaders to support growth and strategic decision-making. You will be a highly self-motivated individual who contributes to the team's ability to meet its financial commitments, while maintaining robust stewardship of control and reporting.
This is a hybrid role, with one to two days in office, to facilitate collaboration and team building. Our office is located across from Guildford Mall in Surrey, BC.
Finance Leadership & Reporting
Oversee the full Canadian accounting and reporting finance function, including direct line management of a small team of accountants and transactional staff.
Deliver timely and accurate monthly and quarterly financial reporting; evolve financial reporting to meet the needs of the business.
Manage the finance function for Canada, encompassing financial control, reporting, and transactional finance.
Ensure timely and accurate financial reporting and KPIs; continuously enhance reporting capabilities.
Assist with the preparation of the annual budget and monthly forecast.
Work with the International FD to set targets for long-range plans and budgets.
Responsible for forecasting accuracy; ensure the business understands risks and opportunities above original targets, and coordinate profit improvement plans and remedial actions where appropriate.
Investment modelling to evaluate the financial viability of projects.
Compliance, Controls & Governance
Responsible for financial compliance and regulatory matters, with particular focus on quarterly SOX reporting and internal controls.
Ensure all reporting and accounting is compliant with relevant local and US GAAP policies, collaborating with key stakeholders including US corporate teams.

Lead the annual statutory audit and the preparation of statutory financial statements to sign-off.
Oversee the annual statutory audit and manage relationships with external auditors.
Responsible for all tax compliance, reporting, audits, and transfer pricing studies, working with company auditors and the internal Tax team.

Business Partnering & Strategic Support
Embed finance as a partner to the business by cultivating key relationships and providing financial insight and advice across the organization.
Collaborate with stakeholders to support business growth and informed decision making.
Implement company initiatives across the finance function.
Transformation & Continuous Improvement
Lead continuous improvement and transformation projects focused on finance reporting, automation of internal controls, and company-wide initiatives.

People Leadership
Lead and develop a high-performing team of finance professionals, motivating and inspiring them to achieve and exceed targets and KPIs.
Lead, inspire, and create a high-achieving finance team through ongoing coaching, development, and transformation.
Coach team members in best practices, fostering a culture of continuous development.
Ensure all team members have clear, up-to-date Individual Development Plans (IDPs), and receive regular performance reviews and meaningful 1:1 conversations to support growth, engagement, and accountability.
Maintain a trusting and collaborative environment that enables the team to thrive.
Lead recruitment efforts for the team, identifying and hiring top talent.

What you'll be working on
Managing the Canadian finance function, including financial control, reporting, and transactional finance.

5+ years of post-designation (CPA) experience.
Experience in the SaaS and/or technology sector.
Proven record of leading, transforming, and building accounting teams.
Experience communicating, influencing, and presenting at a senior leadership level.
Ability to clearly communicate technically complex financial issues and effectively influence stakeholders at all levels.
Experience working within a highly regulated framework or globally listed organization (US GAAP, SOX, IFRS, local GAAP).
Experience working with Microsoft Dynamics, Business Central, or NetSuite is preferred.

The posted range for this position is between $120,000 CAD – $135,000 CAD, which is the expected starting base salary range for an employee who is new to the role to fully proficient and experienced in the role. Many factors go into determining employee pay within the posted range including prior experience, training, current skills, certifications & education etc.
