CNC Setup Operator – Milling / Lathe (Job Shop Environment)
G&G Machine Knife Inc. is a growing precision machining company looking for an experienced CNC Setup Operator to join our team.
This is not a repetitive production role—you’ll be working in a job shop environment, machining custom, high-precision components for a range of industries. Ideal for machinists who enjoy setup, problem-solving, and variety in their work.
This position is suited for machinists and setup operators who enjoy mastering 3-axis CNC machining, precision setups, troubleshooting
What You’ll Do
- Set up and operate 3-axis CNC milling machines and/or lathes
- Read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings
- Select tooling, set offsets, and adjust programs as needed
- Load and run CNC programs (G-code familiarity required)
- Perform in-process inspections using measuring tools
- Monitor machine performance and maintain quality standards
- Perform basic machine maintenance and troubleshooting
- Work independently while contributing to a team environment
What You Bring
- 3+ years of 3-axis CNC setup/operator experience (milling preferred)
- Strong knowledge of CNC machining processes and tooling
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints
- Experience with Mitsubishi and Mazak controls
- Working knowledge of G-code programming
- Experience using precision measuring tools (micrometers, calipers, gauges)
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
- Reliable attendance and a strong work ethic are essential
Nice to Have
- Experience with Mastercam or CNC programming

Compensation & Schedule
- $25+/hour (based on experience)
- Daytime Schedule: Monday–Thursday: 7:00 AM – 4:30 PM, Friday: 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM
- No overtime requirement
- Weekly pay (direct deposit)
- 2 weeks vacation to start
Additional Requirements
- Must be eligible to work in Canada
- Criminal background check may be required
- Ontario Class G Drivers License an asset
