We are expanding our field operations and are seeking safety-minded, hard-working Helical Pile Installers and Field Supervisors (Foremen) to join our industrial field crews.
Position 1: Helical Pile Installer (Field Crew)Job Summary
Working as part of a 2-to-3-person field crew, the Helical Pile Installer is responsible for preparing, aligning, and securing helical pile foundations. This is a physically demanding, hands-on role operating in outdoor oilfield environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Ground Crew Support: Hand-guide and align helical piles during the initial spin-in phase; ensure piles are plumb and positioned according to engineering surveys.
- Equipment Assembly: Manually assist in connecting lead sections, plain extensions, and pile caps using coupling hardware (pins, bolts).
- Site Preparation: Hand shovel, clear debris, and assist in rigging up/down hydraulic drive heads and tooling.
- Equipment Care: Perform daily inspections, greasing, and maintenance on installation tools, drive adapters, and hand tools.
- Safety Adherence: Participate in daily Hazard Assessments (FLHAs/JSAs) and follow strict oilfield site safety guidelines.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Experience: Minimum 1 yr of experience in helical/screw piling, commercial foundation work, or heavy civil construction.
- Oilfield Safety Tickets: Active, valid safety credentials are required prior to dispatch:
- [H2S Alive / Common Safety Orientation (CSO) / OSHA 10-Hour / First Aid & CPR]
- Physical Ability: Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs repeatedly and work long hours outdoors in extreme weather conditions (heat, cold, wind, mud).
- Travel: Ability to travel extensively and live in remote camp environments or hotels for duration of shifts.
- Driver’s License: Valid Class 5 (or regional equivalent) with a clean commercial driving record.
Position 2: Helical Pile Supervisor / Crew LeadJob Summary
The Helical Pile Supervisor oversees the daily on-site execution of piling projects. This role manages crew safety, operates or directs the installation machinery, monitors engineering tolerances (torque and depth), and serves as the primary liaison between the field crew, project engineers, and the oilfield client’s representative.
Key Responsibilities
- Crew Leadership: Direct, coach, and manage a team of installers/operators to ensure safe, high-quality execution of piling plans.
- Equipment Operation: Safely operate heavy machinery (excavator or skid steer equipped with high-torque hydraulic rotary drive heads) to install helical piles to target specifications.
- Quality Control & Data Logging:
- Monitor and document continuous installation torque readings and final depth logs.
- Verify target torque limits utilizing digital torque indicators or differential pressure systems.
- Ensure piles meet precise vertical plumbness, orientation, and elevation tolerances.
- Safety Leadership: Conduct daily Toolbox Talks, manage Job Safety Analyses (JSAs), and issue Field Permits under active oilfield SIMOPS (Simultaneous Operations) protocols.
- Client Relations: Represent the company in daily safety and progress meetings with oilfield prime contractors and site representatives.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Experience: Minimum [3-5 years] of direct helical pile installation experience, with at least [1-2 years] in a supervisory/foreman capacity.
- Technical Skill: Proven capability operating excavators (15–30 ton class) equipped with high-torque rotary drives.
- Blueprint Literacy: Strong ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, structural layouts, and plot plans.
- Certifications:
- Manufacturer Certification (e.g., Chance, Almita, Magnum) is highly preferred.
- Full suite of active oilfield safety tickets (H2S Alive, Ground Disturbance Level II, Fall Protection, First Aid, Leadership for Safety Excellence).
- Driver’s License: Valid Class 1 / CDL (Class A) is a major asset for hauling equipment trailers between sites. Class 5 required
