About the Role
We are seeking a Technical Sales Representative to develop and grow business within the food manufacturing industry. This is a consultative outside sales role focused on helping food and beverage manufacturers improve their cleaning and sanitation processes through customized chemical solutions.
The ideal candidate has experience selling into food manufacturing environments, understands food sanitation requirements, and enjoys building long-term customer relationships through technical, solution-based selling.
Responsibilities
- Develop and grow a designated sales territory by identifying and securing new business opportunities within the food and beverage manufacturing sector.
- Conduct in-person customer meetings, site visits, and product presentations.
- Build strong relationships with existing customers while expanding business within current accounts.
- Understand customer sanitation challenges and recommend appropriate chemical and cleaning solutions.
- Prepare quotations, negotiate opportunities, and close new business.
- Collaborate with service and operations teams to ensure successful implementation and ongoing customer satisfaction.
- Maintain regular customer follow-up and proactively generate new business through networking and prospecting.
- Travel throughout the assigned territory as required.
Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years of outside sales experience selling into the food manufacturing industry.
- Experience in food sanitation, industrial chemicals, or related technical products is required.
- Knowledge of food processing operations, sanitation programs, and CIP (Clean-in-Place) systems is considered a strong asset.
- Understanding of HACCP, GMP, food safety, or microbiology principles is an asset.
- Excellent communication, relationship-building, and consultative selling skills.
- Self-motivated with the ability to manage a territory independently.
- Valid driver's license and willingness to travel throughout the assigned territory.
