Sounds Good Moving is a growing local moving company serving Victoria and surrounding communities. We are committed to providing reliable, professional, and friendly moving services while treating every customer’s belongings and property with care.
We are looking for dependable, hardworking, and positive individuals to join our team as Movers and Drivers. This position is a great fit for someone who enjoys physical work, takes pride in doing a job properly, and knows how to provide excellent customer service.
Previous moving experience is an asset, but we also welcome motivated candidates who are willing to learn.
Responsibilities
As a Mover / Driver, your responsibilities may include:
- Safely packing, wrapping, loading, transporting, and unloading household and commercial items
- Operating moving trucks and company vehicles safely and responsibly
- Protecting furniture, floors, walls, doorways, and other property during moves
- Using moving equipment such as dollies, hand trucks, ramps, straps, moving blankets, and basic tools
- Carrying furniture, boxes, appliances, and other heavy or bulky items
- Disassembling and reassembling basic furniture when required
- Following proper lifting techniques and all company safety procedures
- Communicating professionally with customers and team members
- Helping customers throughout the moving process and creating a positive experience
- Keeping trucks, equipment, and work areas clean and organized
- Completing basic job documentation, time sheets, invoices, and vehicle inspection records
- Reporting damage, safety concerns, vehicle issues, or customer concerns immediately
- Working efficiently as part of a team to complete each move safely and on schedule
Requirements
The ideal candidate will have:
- A strong work ethic and a reliable, professional attitude
- The physical ability to lift and carry heavy items repeatedly throughout the workday
- The ability to safely lift approximately 50–75 lbs independently and heavier items with team assistance
- Good communication skills and conversational English
- A respectful and customer-focused approach
- Punctuality and dependable transportation to the designated meeting location
- The ability to follow instructions and work effectively as part of a team
- Careful attention to customers’ belongings and property
- Flexibility to work varying hours, including mornings, evenings, weekends, and occasional holidays
- The ability to work in a fast-paced and physically demanding environment
- Legal authorization to work in Canada
Driver Requirements
Candidates applying for a driver position should have:
- A valid BC Class 5 driver’s licence
- A clean and safe driving record
- Confidence operating box trucks or similar commercial vehicles
- Good knowledge of Victoria and surrounding areas
- The ability to complete basic pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections
Moving truck or commercial driving experience is preferred but may not be required for the right candidate.
Preferred Experience
The following experience is considered an asset:
- Residential or commercial moving
- Furniture delivery
- Warehouse or general labour work
- Driving box trucks or commercial vehicles
- Packing and furniture protection
- Customer service
- Furniture assembly and basic tool use
