Job Title: Maintenance Worker

Essential Job Functions
- Follow all Marina policies and procedures (e.g., health and safety, environmental, time off)
· Provide exceptional friendly and professional customer service to all marina patrons by interacting with them in a personable manner to guarantee a pleasant and safe stay
· Watch for and alert people of dangerous situations
· Maintain docks, harbour area, public restrooms, and shower facilities
· Work outside in all weather conditions
· Construct and maintain docks
· Shrink wrap boats
- Repair docks as required
- General repairs (trim, flooring, drywall, etc.)
- Assist with roof repairs and shingles
- General maintenance within the facility
- Shrink wrap duties
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Manager or delegate
Requirements
· Experience with carpentry
Experience with roofing
· Experience with plumbing
· Minimum 2 years’ experience with electrical (120/240 volt)
· Experience in welding an asset
- Previous experience in a similar maintenance role
- Carpentry experience required
- Experience with hand tools
- Experience with electric tools
- Must have a valid G license (willing to travel to other locations)
- Valid First Aid and CPR Certification (asset)
- Ability to swim and tread water for two minutes (asset)
- Must possess necessary tools and toolbox
- Strong customer service, communication, and computer skills
- Meticulous, accurate, and able to multitask in a fast-paced environment
- Team player with ability to work independently
- Able to work flexible hours
Working Conditions
· Required to move, lift, carry, pull, and place objects weighing less than or equal to 50lbs without assistance
· Stand, sit, or walk for an extended period or for an entire shift
- Ability to stand, sit, walk, bend, twist, reach, and pull for extended periods
· Reach overhead and below the knees, including bending, twisting, and pulling
· Move over sloping, uneven, or slippery surfaces
- Exposure to varying weather conditions
- Exposure to loud engine/equipment noise
- Exposure to fuel odors and hazardous substances
