Your days will include:
- Serving as a primary point of contact and resource for HyLife drivers
- Building and maintaining positive working relationships with drivers through regular communication and coaching
- Coordinating and facilitating new driver onboarding, orientation, and competency evaluations and conducting simulator training sessions
- Managing and maintaining the Luma Learning Management System (LMS)
- Developing, updating, and delivering seasonal training programs and learning content
- Auditing electronic driver logs (ELDs) and Hours of Service (HOS) compliance. Assisting drivers with ELD operation and troubleshooting
- Monitoring driver performance trends using available reporting tools while recommending coaching opportunities
- Conducting ride-alongs and driver evaluations as required
- Completing new driver sign-offs following successful completion of training requirements
- Preparing weekly, monthly, and annual reports related to driver training, compliance, and performance
- Supporting the administration of driver performance programs, recognition initiatives, and incentive programs
- Working collaboratively with Logistics, Operations, Safety, and Fleet Maintenance to identify training needs and improve operational performance
- Promoting safe driving practices, regulatory compliance, and continuous improvement throughout the fleet
- Travelling to HyLife locations as required to deliver training and support drivers
- Participating in special projects and performing other duties as assigned
To succeed in this role, you must possess:
- Valid Class 1 License
- Minimum 5 years of Class 1 driving experience
- Previous experience as a driver trainer, mentor, or instructor is considered an asset
- Strong understanding of Hours of Service regulations and electronic logging devices (ELDs)
- Experience delivering classroom and practical training programs
- Experience as a driver trainer an asset
- Excellent people skills
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Strong multitasking and organizational skills
- A solid understanding of logistics operations
- Good understanding of Microsoft Outlook, Excel and Word
- Be a strong team player with leadership skills, and a polite professional demeanor
