Description
We are seeking a hands-on Change Management Specialist to support a complex Procurement System Modernization initiative.
This is a delivery-focused role for a resource who can develop practical change management artifacts, lead stakeholder engagement activities, and support implementation readiness. The role is not advisory-only; the successful candidate will work directly with project, business, and operational teams to produce change materials and execute core change activities required for a successful rollout.
Role Purpose
The Change Management Specialist will support impacted stakeholders through project transition by developing change deliverables, coordinating engagement activities, and supporting readiness, communication, training, adoption, and implementation efforts.
Key Responsibilities
- The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Developing and executing practical change management deliverables.
- Creating stakeholder assessments, impact assessments, readiness materials, communication products, engagement materials, training materials, job aids, quick reference guides, FAQs, presentations, and end-user support content.
- Leading stakeholder engagement sessions, workshops, alignment meetings, demos, walkthroughs, and other change-related working sessions.
- Working with business and project teams to identify impacts, gather information, validate messaging, and translate project changes into clear stakeholder-facing materials.
- Drafting clear communications for leadership, business users, operational teams, and other impacted groups.
- Developing training and user support documentation for process, system, or service changes.
- Supporting change impact assessment, stakeholder readiness, rollout planning, pilot activities, phased implementation, and adoption support.
- Coordinating and tracking change-related actions, dependencies, issues, and deliverables.
- Working within established project direction and priorities to deliver required outputs in a timely and practical manner.
This role is best suited for a resource who is comfortable executing the work, not only advising on what should be done. The successful candidate must be proactive, organized, and able to produce change artifacts, facilitate engagements, and support implementation activities that move the initiative forward.
Must Have
- Bachelor's degree in a related field
- Direct experience in change facilitation
- Experience developing change management deliverables including Change Strategy and Plans, Training Strategy and Plans, Stakeholder Impact Assessments, Communication Strategy and Plans.
- Experience developing effective communication materials for stakeholders.
- PROSCI or CCMP certification
Nice to Have
- Experience developing and delivering training materials including documentation, computer - based training modules and training videos.
- Experience developing readiness programs, training or stakeholder engagement.
- Experience gathering requirements using interviews, document analysis, requirements workshops, surveys, site visits, business process descriptions, use cases or scenarios, business analysis, and business process modeling.
- Experience working within digital transformation initiatives at the Government of Alberta.
