About the Role
The Data & Business Intelligence Developer will serve as the primary architect of our
company’s data ecosystem. Going beyond traditional analysis, you will be responsible
for designing, engineering, and deploying the robust data infrastructure that drives our
business decisions and daily operations.
You will lead the development of our Power BI reporting environment, build automated
data pipelines (ETL/ELT) from diverse operational platforms, and establish a
centralized, scalable data model. Your work will directly empower cross-functional
teams by providing real-time visibility into sales, product performance, inventory, and
market trends. This is a unique opportunity to take full ownership of our data
architecture, influence strategic business decisions, and shape how data is utilized
across the organization.
Key Responsibilities
Data Engineering &Architecture
- Infrastructure Design: Architect, deploy, and manage the company’s centralized
data storage (e.g., Data Warehouse or Data Lake) to ensure a scalable and
reliable data infrastructure.
- Pipeline Development: Design and build robust ETL/ELT pipelines to extract,
clean, and consolidate data from multiple third-party platforms, APIs, and flat
files.
- System Integration: Develop and maintain automated API connections to
seamlessly integrate raw data sources with databases, Power BI, and Google
Sheets.
- Data Governance: Establish data quality standards, validation protocols, and
security measures to ensure all reporting is accurate, secure, and highly reliable.
Business Intelligence & Reporting
- Power BI Environment: Lead and administer the enterprise Power BI
environment, implementing best practices for workspaces, security, and
automated data refreshes.
- Advanced Data Modeling: Design optimized relational data models (e.g., star
schemas) and write complex DAX measures to support high-performance
reporting.
- Dashboard Creation: Develop intuitive, automated dashboards tracking key
business KPIs, including sales, product performance, channel distribution,
inventory levels, and promotional ROI.
- Process Automation: Identify bottlenecks in current workflows and leverage
scripts, agentic workflows, and modern data stack solutions to automate manual
reporting processes.
Business Support &Analytics
- Cross-Functional Enablement: Partner with management and operational
teams to translate complex business requirements into technical data solutions.
- Insight Generation: Proactively identify trends, anomalies, risks, and
opportunities within the data to guide strategic decision-making.
- Market Analysis: Support market research and the evaluation of new projects or
business opportunities using data-driven forecasting and modeling.
Qualifications
Technical Skills
- Advanced BI Expertise: Deep expertise in Power BI, including advanced data
modeling, Power Query (M), DAX, and dashboard UX/UI design.
- Database &SQL: Strong proficiency in SQL and experience designing and
managing relational databases or cloud data warehouses.
- Programming &APIs: Solid programming skills (e.g., Python, R, or advanced
JavaScript/Apps Script) for building API integrations, custom scripts, and data
pipelines.
- Spreadsheet Mastery: Advanced knowledge of Google Sheets (including
complex formulas and script automation), specifically in bridging the gap between
spreadsheet data and automated BI tools.
- AI Integration &Agentic Workflows: We actively promote AI-assisted
development. You should be familiar with modern AI tools and agentic workflows.
You will be provided access to Claude Code to accelerate code generation,
data analysis, automation, and workflow enhancement.
Professional Competencies
- Ownership & Autonomy: Proven ability to work independently, managing the
full lifecycle of data projects from conception and design to deployment and
maintenance.
- Problem Solving: Exceptional analytical skills with a knack for investigating data
discrepancies and troubleshooting complex pipeline issues.
- Communication: Strong ability to translate complex technical concepts into
clear, actionable insights for non-technical stakeholders.
Preferred Experience
- Previous experience leading data architecture or BI environment deployments.
- Experience in the beauty, retail, e-commerce, or consumer products industries is a strong asset.
