Position Summary
The Functional Test Analyst is responsible for ensuring the quality, reliability, and business readiness of ERP and digital transformation solutions within a power utility environment. Working within Agile teams, the analyst partners with business stakeholders, developers, and project teams to validate business requirements, execute testing activities, and support successful solution delivery.
This role will be 4 days per week on client site in downtown Halifax.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and execute test plans, test cases, and test scripts for functional, regression, integration, E2E, UAT, and accessibility testing.
Participate in Agile ceremonies, requirements reviews, and Three Amigos sessions to ensure testable requirements and clear acceptance criteria.
Perform web, UI, API, interface, and data validation testing.
Manage defects through their lifecycle using Azure DevOps or similar tools, including triage, tracking, retesting, and reporting.
Support ERP transformation initiatives, including Oracle Fusion Cloud ERP or similar enterprise platforms.
Collaborate with business SMEs, product owners, developers, and project teams to validate end-to-end business processes and integrations.
Execute UAT activities and support business readiness and release validation.
Monitor quality metrics and contribute to continuous improvement of testing practices.
Leverage GenAI tools such as GitHub Copilot and Microsoft 365 Copilot to enhance test design, documentation, and productivity.
Required Qualifications
5+ years of experience in functional testing, QA, or ERP testing.
Experience testing web applications, APIs, integrations, and enterprise systems.
Strong understanding of testing methodologies, test case design, defect management, and QA best practices.
Experience working within Agile/Scrum teams.
Proficiency with Azure DevOps, Jira, or similar testing and defect management tools.
SQL and data testing experience.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and documentation skills.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with Oracle Fusion Cloud ERP or similar ERP platforms.
Experience in regulated industries such as utilities, energy, or the public sector.
Knowledge of utility business processes, including finance, procurement, asset management, or work management.
Exposure to ITIL and service management practices.
Programming knowledge (TypeScript preferred) and familiarity with test automation concepts.
Oracle or QA-related certifications are considered an asset.
