Description complète du poste

We are looking for a hands-on and strategic Controller to lead and scale the company's finance function during an exciting period of growth.

Reporting directly to the CFO, this role will play a critical part in strengthening financial operations, improving reporting, supporting strategic decision-making, and building scalable processes across the organization.

This is an ideal opportunity for a finance professional who enjoys balancing strategy with execution; someone equally comfortable developing financial models and forecasts as they are improving processes, supporting operations, and leading day-to-day accounting activities.

Key Responsibilities:

Oversee all accounting operations, including AP/AR, general ledger, payroll, and month-end close, ensuring accuracy and timeliness as the company scales.
Develop and maintain internal controls that support compliance with Canadian and U.S. regulatory requirements.
Lead budgeting and forecasting cycles, providing scenario modeling and insights that support strategic decision making in a high growth environment.
Produce monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, ensuring clarity, accuracy, and alignment with applicable accounting standards.
Develop financial dashboards and KPI reporting that provide leadership with actionable operational insights.
Act as a strategic business partner to department leaders across operations, sales, and supply chain.
Support business growth initiatives through financial analysis, process improvements, and scalability planning.
Partner with Operations, Supply Chain, and Sales to analyze margins, pricing, landed costs, and inventory performance.
Own financial systems and process optimization, identifying opportunities to automate, streamline, and scale accounting workflows.
Coordinate external audits, tax filings, and compliance reporting, working with cross border accounting firms as needed.
Establish and maintain cost accounting frameworks, including SKU-level costing, freight allocation, and inventory valuation.
Support leadership with financial modeling, including new product launches, vendor negotiations, and expansion planning.
Implement and maintain accounting policies, ensuring consistency, transparency, and readiness for future growth or investment.
Build and mentor a small but growing finance team, fostering accountability, accuracy, and continuous improvement.

The successful candidate has:

CPA Designation or equivalent, with 5+ years progressive accounting and finance experience in public accounting or in a high growth company.
Experience in a scaling organization, ideally in manufacturing or distribution.
Comfort operating both strategically and tactically, shifting between high level planning and hands on execution.
Strong understanding of cross-border financial operations, including currency considerations, tax implications, and compliance would be desirable.
Experience working in organizations with both US and Canadian operations will be considered an asset.
Proficiency with ERP/accounting systems, with the ability to lead upgrades or implementations.
Exceptional analytical and problem solving skills, with a knack for turning data into actionable insights.
Ability to thrive in a fast paced, evolving environment, building structure without slowing momentum.
Experience with ERP or process automation initiatives is considered an asset.
Solid knowledge of financial analysis and forecasting.

Compensation and benefits:

The discussed salary is $100,000.
