Responsibilities
- Operate commercial tractor-trailers safely and efficiently to transport products between company facilities and customer locations.
- Perform pre-trip, en-route, and post-trip vehicle inspections and report any defects or safety concerns.
- Back trailers into loading docks and follow all dock safety procedures, including trailer restraint systems and chock block requirements.
- Obtain and maintain accurate shipping, receiving, and delivery documentation.
- Load, unload, and transport secondary bedding products using proper lifting techniques and material handling equipment.
- Work with warehouse personnel to ensure products are loaded, secured, and delivered safely.
- Follow all transportation regulations, company policies, and workplace health and safety requirements.
- Wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) and adhere to safe work practices at all times.
- Identify and report hazards, incidents, near misses, and unsafe conditions.
- Maintain a professional and customer-focused approach when interacting with customers, vendors, and team members.
Qualifications
- 3-5 years of driving experience.
- Valid Class 1/AZ commercial driver's license.
- Clean driver's abstract with a safe driving record.
- Must be able to do overnight deliveries and multiple days on the road.
- Previous experience operating tractor-trailers or commercial transport vehicles.
- Knowledge of transportation, shipping, and receiving procedures.
- Understanding of workplace health and safety regulations.
- Experience handling freight, pallets, and warehouse materials is considered an asset.
- Forklift certification or experience working around material handling equipment is an asset.
