Overview
Kai Cao Inc. (KCI) is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Quality Assurance Coordinator to support both KCI's Quality Management System and the quality requirements of our customers across engineering, procurement, manufacturing, and field projects.
Working closely with engineering, procurement, project management, shop personnel, suppliers, and customers, the successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating quality documentation, supporting project compliance, and ensuring customer quality requirements are satisfied throughout project execution.
This position is well suited for a junior to intermediate quality professional who is looking to develop their career within the engineering, manufacturing, and nuclear industries.
This role combines office-based quality coordination with regular travel to customer and supplier facilities to support inspections, audits, project execution, and outage activities.
Responsibilities:
Project Quality & Documentation
· Prepare, review, and compile History Dockets and project turnover packages.
· Develop, maintain, and coordinate Manufacturing Inspection & Test Plans (MITPs).
· Review Certificates of Conformance (CoCs), Material Test Reports (MTRs), inspection reports, and supplier quality documentation.
· Understand customer quality documentation requirements and ensure required records are complete, accurate, and ready for customer submission.
· Maintain document traceability and revision control throughout project execution.
· Coordinate project closeout documentation in accordance with customer requirements.
Quality Assurance & Compliance
· Support KCI's Quality Management System and customer-specific quality programs.
· Verify compliance with customer specifications, purchase orders, drawings, codes, standards, and contractual requirements.
· Assist with internal audits, and surveillance activities.
· Support supplier qualification activities and quality documentation reviews.
· Assist with the investigation and resolution of non-conformances and corrective actions.
· Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and support the ongoing development of KCI's Quality Management System, including ISO 9001 and future CSA N299 quality programs.
Project, Supplier & Customer Support
· Work closely with engineering, procurement, project management, suppliers, manufacturing partners, and customers throughout project execution.
· Act as the quality documentation liaison between customers, suppliers, manufacturing partners, and internal project teams.
· Interpret customer quality and documentation requirements and communicate expectations clearly to suppliers and manufacturing partners.
· Coordinate with suppliers and manufacturing partners to ensure required quality documentation is submitted on time and meets customer and project requirements.
· Drive the prioritization and completion of quality documentation deliverables based on customer requirements, project schedules, inspection milestones, and delivery deadlines.
· Review supplier quality documentation to ensure compliance with customer and project requirements.
· Support procurement activities by verifying supplier documentation and material compliance.
· Identify documentation gaps, follow up with responsible parties, and escalate delays or issues when required.
· Travel to customer and supplier facilities to support inspections, audits, project activities, and outage support as required.
· Maintain professional relationships with customers, suppliers, manufacturing partners, and project stakeholders.
General Administration
· Maintain quality records and controlled documentation.
· Assist with the development and maintenance of quality procedures, forms, templates, and work instructions.
· Support document control activities and quality record retention.
· Perform other quality-related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Education
One of the following is preferred:
· Diploma or Degree in Engineering Technology
· Mechanical Engineering Technology
· Manufacturing Engineering Technology
· Quality Assurance
· Engineering
· Industrial Technology
Equivalent education and experience will be considered.
Experience
· 1–5 years of experience in Quality Assurance, Quality Control, Manufacturing, Engineering Support, Document Control, or a related field.
· Experience working within engineering, manufacturing, industrial, or fabrication environments is preferred.
· Experience supporting the nuclear industry, including familiarity with nuclear quality programs, customer quality requirements, and regulated work environments, is considered a strong asset.
· Experience with ISO 9001 Quality Management Systems is preferred.· Familiarity with CSA N299 quality standards, ASME codes, Manufacturing Inspection & Test Plans (MITPs), History Dockets, and quality documentation is considered an asset.
Pay: $25.00-$30.00 per hour
