The Organization
In October of 2023 De Havilland Aircraft of Canada announced the acquisition of Mid Canada Mod Centre (MC2) and Avionics Design Services (ADS). MC2/ADS are comprised of industry leading experts focused on ensuring commercial, charter, special mission and business aircraft operators are equipped with flight decks that provide safety and efficiency. As a premier Canadian aviation maintenance shop, the team of experts works to define avionics requirements to develop and certify solutions that fit each operator’s individual need.
Profile
We are searching for a highly motivated, hands-on professional to fill the position of Airworthiness Coordinator Assistant in Mississauga, Ontario. The position is part of administrative group and is secondary to the Airworthiness Coordinator. The main responsibility is supporting the administration of the engineering and design activities, including Design Approval Organization (DAO) rulemaking activities. This position ensures that departmental/company deliverables effectively support the company's obligations including the applicable regulatory requirements.
Duties & Responsibilities
- DAO Administration:
- Coordinate with TCCA administrator, maintain and provide the required monthly reports
- Coordinate with TCCA OPI
- Operate NDWL (TCCA database) and EASA portal
- Create DAO certification documents
- Exercise data control using the engineering database
- Create, submit and coordinate with TCCA the task requests for TCCA LOI and LOS
- Coordinate the foreign validation of DAO approvals, coordinate company's responses
- Support the DAO Manager in a variety of DAO or Airworthiness initiatives
- Oversee and check all (s)STC projects for completion and accuracy
- Oversee overdue and missing reports for completion.
- Data Control
- Able to support Data Control Team by issuing project, drawings, document numbers or other data and log into records using database tool
- Use database tools to control the records accuracy
- Deliver customer data package following issuance of approvals
- Customer support related to missing data
Education and Professional Qualifications
- Engineering Degree or Engineering Technology diploma.
- Aeronautical/Aerospace experience would be an asset.
- Successful completion of the Transport Canada Aircraft Certification Specialty course would be an asset.
Experience
- Minimum of two (2) years progressive aerospace experience in airworthiness and certification administration
- Familiarity with database operation
- Advanced user knowledge of MS Office Suite (MS Word, Excel, Access). Use of Corel -WordPerfect would be an asset.
- Familiarity with Transport Canada AWM 523, 525, 527 and 529 and similar rules under FAA and EASA authority and familiarity with aircraft certification documents would be an asset.
