Job Summary
The Business Systems Analyst – as a core member of the Pharmacy Applications team, this position is an integral part that focuses on driving company-wide IT application and data initiatives from start to completion and supporting the Pharmacy Applications Team on a daily basis. Reporting to the Software Development Manager, the Business Systems Analyst (BSA) bridges the gap between IT and business teams by analyzing user needs, documenting functional requirements, and designing technical solutions to improve operational efficiency. Key responsibilities include creating system requirements, mapping processes, testing software, and providing support.

Core Responsibilities & Duties
- Requirements Gathering: Interviewing stakeholders to translate business needs into technical specifications and functional requirements.
- System Analysis & Design: Analyzing existing IT systems, data flows, and infrastructure to recommend improvements, feature requests or a new solution.
- Support change management activities
- Testing & Implementation: Developing test plans, cases, and scripts, and overseeing system integration and user acceptance testing (UAT).
- Technical Writing: Creating detailed documentation, including flowcharts, data models, and use cases as well as building operational handover and runbook documentation for each application.
- Liaison Function: Acting as the primary point of contact between business users, vendors, and development teams.
- Provide ad-hoc support to Pharmacy Application team: develop, manage and maintain relationships with business stakeholders and owners on behalf of the Pharmacy Applications team
Technical Competencies:
- Demonstrates broad technical proficiency across Microsoft technologies, including the Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word), Windows Server operating systems, Internet Information Services (IIS), and SQL Server is an asset.
- Experience working in Agile environments.
- Microsoft SQL Server experience is required (an understanding of SQL queries, T-SQL stored procedures, views and functions).
- Nice to have some experience with design, implement, and maintain CI/CD pipelines to automate build, test, and deployment processes across environments (Git Hub Actions).
- Experience with analyzing and reporting service desk ticketing data in order to identify issues, trends or expectations to drive improvements, search for solutions and reduce reoccurring tickets
- Possess key problem-solving skillsets including critical analytical thinking, devising and evaluating potential alternatives and implementing viable solutions
- Meet and exceed deliverables and timelines as assigned
- Effective organization, planning, and time management skills
- Proven ability to foster strong partnerships with other members of the IT team
- Demonstrated high level of fluency in both written and spoken English: excellent customer service and interpersonal skill and be able to interact with persons of varying levels of professional expertise in a professional and mature manner
- Skilled in critical thought processes and be able to prioritize appropriately
- Demonstrates initiative and creativity and strong attention to detail
- Self-directed requiring minimal supervision and able to work independently
- Motivated to achieve results that reflect a high standard of quality
Compensation Range: $70,000 to $80,000. Actual pay rate will be based on the individual candidate’s credentials and experience.
Location: Please note that this role currently requires 1–2 days per week in the office at our 320 Bay Street location. Beginning January 2027, the office will relocate to Richmond Hill or Oakville location, with an expectation of 2 days per week onsite, increasing to 3 days per week as of June 2027.
