About the Role
The Practice Lead, Modern Work & Software Development is responsible for leading Convverge's Microsoft Modern Work & AI, and Power Platform Development practices. This role combines team leadership, delivery oversight, technical strategy, and business development to ensure the successful growth and maturity of the practices.
Working closely with technical leads, consultants, developers, project managers, and sales teams, the Practice Lead helps shape service offerings, develop team capabilities, supports client engagements, and drives consistent delivery excellence.
The ideal candidate is an experienced consultant and leader who can balance strategic thinking with hands-on involvement in client solutions, practice development, and team coaching.
Key Responsibilities
Practice Leadership
- Lead the ongoing development and growth of the Modern Work & Software Development practices.
- Build and maintain service offerings across:
- o Modern Work Services including Microsoft 365, SharePoint, Teams, Copilot, governance, administration, and collaboration solutions.
- o Power Platform & Fusion Development including Power Apps, Power Automate, Dataverse, Copilot Studio, integrations, and business application delivery.
- Partner with senior leadership to identify market opportunities and develop new service offerings, accelerators, methodologies, and reusable intellectual property that drive practice growth and delivery excellence.
- Develop practice roadmaps, standards, and best practices.
- Collaborate with leadership on hiring plans and capability development.
Delivery Excellence
- Ensure successful delivery of client engagements across the practices.
- Support project teams with solution design, technical guidance, and issue resolution.
- Promote consistent delivery methodologies, templates, and quality standards.
- Assist project managers and technical leads in managing project risk and client expectations.
- Drive continuous improvement of delivery processes and practices.
People Leadership & Mentorship
- Coach, mentor, and support consultants, developers, and technical specialists.
- Foster a high-performance culture built on accountability, collaboration, and continuous learning.
- Support performance management, career development, and succession planning.
- Participate in recruiting, interviewing, and onboarding new team members.
Technical & Solution Leadership
- Provide senior-level guidance on Modern Work and software development solutions.
- Support architecture reviews and technical decision-making.
- Stay current on Microsoft's roadmap and emerging technologies.
- Promote the adoption of reusable assets, accelerators, and delivery frameworks.
Sales & Business Development Support
- Support client pursuits, workshops, and discovery sessions.
- Contribute to proposals, estimates, statements of work, and solution presentations.
- Work alongside the sales team to identify and develop growth opportunities.
- Build strong relationships with clients and Microsoft stakeholders.
Practice Performance
- Support achievement of practice performance targets, including:
- o Revenue
- o Utilization
- o Delivery quality
- o Client satisfaction
- Assist with resource planning and forecasting.
- Monitor team capacity and identify hiring requirements.
Qualifications and Experience
Required
- 5+ years of consulting or professional services experience.
- 2-5 years of people leadership experience.
- Experience delivering Microsoft Modern Work, Power Platform, SharePoint, or custom software development solutions.
- Strong understanding of the Microsoft ecosystem, including Microsoft 365, Power Platform, Azure, and Copilot.
- Experience supporting client engagements from discovery through delivery.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
Preferred
- Experience with a Microsoft Partner organization.
- Microsoft certifications in Modern Work, Azure, Power Platform, or AI.
- Experience leading multidisciplinary technical teams.
- Experience contributing to sales pursuits and business development activities.
