Here’s the job opportunity
We are seeking a Senior Business Systems Analyst to support our IFRS 17 implementation, ERP modernization, and Azure data platform initiatives.
The successful candidate will analyze end-to-end business processes, define data requirements and transformation logic, and support the migration of financial and operational data into our ERP and enterprise data ecosystem.
This position is ideal for someone with strong knowledge of financial reporting, GL structures, and regulatory requirements, and the ability to translate complex business needs into clear, actionable technical deliverables.
Core Responsibilities
Business & Data Analysis

Gather, analyze, and document business requirements for IFRS 17, general ledger (GL), subledger processes, and financial reporting

Analyze end-to-end business processes to identify gaps, dependencies, and opportunities for standardization and automation

Translate business needs into clear functional and data requirements for engineering and delivery teams

Collaborate with stakeholders to review, refine, and validate requirements
Data Mapping & Transformation

Map legacy system data to ERP structures, IFRS 17 data models, and Azure data environments

Define and document data transformation logic, business rules, and validation frameworks
-
Produce and maintain source-to-target mappings, data dictionaries, and metadata and lineage documentation
Financial & Regulatory Alignment
-
Collaborate with Finance and Actuarial teams to validate calculations, assumptions, and IFRS 17 measurement models

Support chart of accounts (COA) redesign, including mapping, hierarchy alignment, and reporting structures

Provide recommendations to support regulatory compliance, auditability, and financial reporting accuracy
Testing, Validation & Reconciliation

Support development and execution of test cases for data validation and financial reporting scenarios

Validate outputs across systems and data pipelines to ensure accuracy, completeness, and consistency

Support reconciliation between legacy systems, actuarial engines, subledgers, and ERP platforms
Collaboration & Delivery Support

Partner closely with Data Engineers, Architects, Finance and Actuarial SMEs

Participate in cross-functional discussions and contribute to solution design and delivery

Support go-live readiness and post-implementation stabilization
Data Governance & Documentation

Contribute to enterprise data governance efforts, including Data quality monitoring, Metadata management and Data lineage tracking

Maintain clear, comprehensive documentation to support audit and traceability requirements
Team Contribution

Provide guidance and support to analysts, as required

Contribute to consistency and quality of analysis practices within the team

Qualifications & Experience
Education
-
Bachelor’s degree in finance, Business Administration, Actuarial Science, Computer Science, or related field

CPA, CFA, or actuarial‑related certification is an asset
Experience
-
8–10+ years of experience in business systems and/or data analysis

Experience within insurance or financial services environments

Hands-on experience supporting IFRS 17 or regulatory reporting initiatives

Experience working with financial systems, actuarial data, or ERP platforms
Core Skills

Strong understanding of IFRS 17 concepts (e.g., CSM, cohorts, measurement models)

Deep knowledge of GL structures, chart of accounts, and financial reporting processes

Experience with ERP systems and translating business requirements into data and system specifications

Proficiency in SQL and/or Python for data validation and analysis

Strong stakeholder management and communication skills

Ability to work independently in a complex, multi-system environment (on Prem and Azure cloud)
Technical Skills (Preferred)

Azure data platform familiarity including data lake, warehouse, and Lakehouse patterns

Metadata and lineage understanding to support traceability, reconciliation, and audit requirements

ETL/ELT process understanding to translate business rules into transformation logic and validate pipeline outputs

Familiarity with ERP data structures (GL, COA, subledger flows) to support mapping and integration
