Role Overview:
As a Business Analyst on the Strategic Insights team, you will play a key role in uncovering opportunities to drive profitable revenue growth and support strategic decision-making across the organization. You will work closely with the Head of Strategic Insights to transform complex data into actionable insights, develop compelling narratives, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement data-driven strategies.
This role acts as a bridge between business needs and analytical execution, translating requirements into actionable solutions and partnering with internal teams to support business objectives. Success in this role requires curiosity, strong business acumen, and the ability to connect data, strategy, and execution to deliver meaningful business outcomes.
What You’ll Be Doing
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Partner with cross-functional teams across Sales, Finance, and Operations to understand business needs and support data-driven strategies.
- Identify trends, risks, and opportunities within data, translating findings into clear, persuasive stories that support business decisions.
- Support the analysis and optimization of rate structures and revenue programs, including coordinating inputs for the annual rate book update, assisting with rebate calculations and rebate agreement updates, and identifying opportunities to improve pricing and ancillary revenue performance.
- Conduct customer profitability and segmentation analysis to inform sales and marketing strategies, with a focus on aligning offerings to customer value.
- Perform competitive pricing and market analysis to ensure alignment with customer expectations and market dynamics.
- Maintain and manage agreement versions, updates, approvals, and related documentation.
- Gather, document, and translate business requirements into clear functional requirements for reporting, analytics, and process improvement initiatives, partnering with Data & Analytics teams to develop, validate, and implement solutions that align with business needs.
- Champion the use of internal applications and tools (e.g., Power BI, AI-powered tools) to enhance data accessibility and decision-making and recommend improvements to increase usability and effectiveness for end users.
- Build relationships with new vendors that will allow warranty repairs to be completed in-house.
What You’ll Bring to the Team
Qualifications and Requirements:
- 2+ years of experience in a business analyst, data analyst, business intelligence, pricing, finance, or similar analytical role.
- Post-secondary education in Business, Finance, Analytics, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a passion for turning complex data into actionable insights through storytelling.
- Advanced Excel skills and experience using Power BI or similar business intelligence tools to analyze, visualize, and communicate data.
- Strategic mindset with the ability to align insights with business goals.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organizational and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deliverables.
- Ability to build effective working relationships across departments and influence stakeholders.
- Business acumen, ideally with exposure to the construction or equipment rental industry.
- Experience with rate management, customer segmentation, or revenue optimization is an asset.
- Familiarity with Dynamics 365 CRM and AI-powered tools is preferred.
