Key Responsibilities
As an Optometric Assistant, you will play an important role in creating an exceptional patient experience by:
- Greeting patients with professionalism and warmth
- Managing front desk responsibilities, including appointment scheduling, answering phones, insurance verification, and payment processing
- Performing preliminary testing, including OCT, visual field testing, retinal imaging, and other diagnostic procedures
- Teaching patients proper contact lens insertion, removal, and care
- Assisting patients with frame selection and educating them on lens options and coatings
- Recommending eyewear solutions that meet each patient's visual needs and lifestyle
- Maintaining accurate patient records
- Ensuring the clinic and optical boutique remain clean, organized, and welcoming
What We're Looking For
The ideal candidate is friendly, confident, detail-oriented, and enjoys working in a fast-paced, patient-focused environment.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 1 year of optical experience (required)
- Previous experience with optical sales and frame styling
- Outstanding customer service and communication skills
- Professional, polished, and dependable
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities
- Comfortable learning new technology and working with electronic medical records
- A positive attitude and willingness to work as part of a collaborative team
