Position Summary
The Industrial Mechanic/Millwright is responsible for maintaining, repairing, assembling, and installing industrial machinery and equipment used throughout the fabrication and machine shop. This role ensures all production equipment operates safely and efficiently, supporting daily operations such as machining, welding, fabrication, and material handling.
Key Responsibilities
Maintenance & Repair
Diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic issues in shop machinery (lathes, mills, saws, welders, presses, overhead cranes, etc.).
- Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on all shop equipment.
- Troubleshoot equipment failures and implement efficient, long-term solutions.
- Replace worn or damaged machine components such as bearings, shafts, belts, motors, and seals.
Machine Installation & Setup
- Install, align, and level new machinery and production equipment.
- Assemble and disassemble machinery for repair, relocation, or upgrades.
- Set up and calibrate equipment to manufacturer specifications and shop requirements.
Fabrication & Machining Support
- Assist machinists and fabricators by ensuring equipment is operating properly.
- Fabricate, weld, or machine replacement parts when necessary.
- Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, manuals, and schematics.
Safety & Compliance
- Follow lockout/tagout procedures and ensure all equipment is safe to operate.
- Maintain a clean, well-organized workspace.
- Comply with all workplace safety regulations and company policies.
- Inspect equipment regularly to identify potential hazards
General Duties
- Assist with upgrades, retrofits, and continuous improvement projects.
- Support day-to-day shop operations where needed.
- Participate in training and ongoing skill development.
Documentation & Compliance
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and parts used.
- Report issues, delays, or equipment concerns to supervisors promptly.
- Track and request replacement parts and consumables as needed.
Qualifications
- Industrial Mechanic/Millwright Red Seal or equivalent certification (preferred but not mandatory depending on role).
- Minimum 3–5 years’ experience in an industrial, fabrication, or machining environment.
- Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, hydraulics, pneumatics, and industrial machinery.
- Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and technical documentation.
- Proficient with hand tools, power tools, and precision measuring instruments.
- Welding and fabrication experience an asset.
- Forklift and overhead crane certifications are an asset.

Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and handle materials of varying weights and sizes.
- Prolonged standing, bending, and walking through the facility.
- Comfortable working in an industrial environment (noise, dust, and temperature variations).
Work Environment:
- Fabrication, machine shop and industrial settings.
- In house at CSMW as well as on site work at customer facilities.
- Interaction with multiple departments: Fabrication, Machining, and Production.

Pay: $47.72 per hour
