Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Laminator Operator to join our production team. The ideal candidate will be responsible to ensures production schedules are met and products meet customer, organizational and legislative specifications by overseeing the operation of the laminator and addressing any technical/mechanical issues promptly in order to limit any downtime.
Key responsibilities and accountabilities:
- Assists in the production process of all laminations by performing any combination of the following duties:
- Receives specifications of work orders from Production Supervisor including but not limited to, production time-frame, production specifications including size, coating weights, and quantities required, in order to ensure jobs are completed in a timely and accurate manner;
- Sets up the job in accordance with the job specifications; checks schedule and ensures appropriate rolls/material are ready for reloading machines; ensures machine is continually running at maximum speed as per chart;
- Checks lamination structures to ensure they meet quality and job specification requirements; including but not limited to, catalyst ratio, coating eights, clarity and bond strength;
- Moves raw materials and finished products to appropriate staging areas utilizing Raymond Reach Truck or equivalent equipment;
- Performs regular maintenance on laminator, on a monthly basis, in accordance with prescribed Preventative Maintenance Schedule; performs minor repairs within own scope of expertise and advises Production Supervisor, in a timely manner, of any repairs required that are outside own area of expertise;
- Maintains the work area in a clean and orderly manner by sweeping the floor around the equipment and emptying garbage on a daily basis; performs all other housekeeping duties as required to maintain a clean and safe working environment, adhering to Housekeeping checklist;
- Maintains the work area in a clean and orderly manner by ensuring area around the equipment is free of clutter on an on-going daily basis; performs all other housekeeping duties, in accordance with the Housekeeping checklist, as required to maintain a clean and safe working environment;
- Performs all other related duties as assigned.
- Adheres to all Quality and Health & Safety policies and procedures at all times, immediately reporting any issues to the Production Supervisor;
Qualifications & Skills:
· Minimum High School graduation.
· Minimum 3 (three) years related experience in a related role preferred, but not essential
· Excellent ability to multi-task with good organizational and prioritization skills
· Excellent ability to adapt to a fast paced, changing work environment which includes shift changes and product variation
· Good knowledge of how printing processes and lamination effect the quality of product
· Basic mechanical aptitude in order to perform simple repairs and maintenance
· Good written and verbal communication skills (English)
· Ability to work under moderate pressure in order to meet tight deadlines imposed by circumstances beyond own control
· Team player able to relate with all levels of staff
