We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Junior Coordinator to support our Accounting and Solar Operations team.
This role is ideal for someone looking to gain hands-on experience in financial processes, reporting, renewable energy operations, and field coordination within a growing solar company. The successful candidate will assist with bookkeeping, operational tracking, solar system monitoring, troubleshooting coordination, project scheduling, and reporting while ensuring accuracy and efficiency across daily operations.
The ideal candidate exercises sound judgment, takes initiative, is resourceful, and proactively identifies and resolves issues with minimal supervision.
Key Responsibilities
Solar Operations & Field Coordination
- Monitor solar system performance through ECU platforms (e.g., APsystems EMA).
- Identify offline systems, underperformance, and connectivity issues.
- Coordinate troubleshooting with clients, electricians, technicians, and service providers.
- Assist with ECU setup, monitoring installation, and system reactivation.
- Schedule and coordinate site visits for inspections, ECU installations, solar panel removal and reinstallation, and service calls.
- Assist with solar panel removal and reinstallation projects.
- Conduct site inspections and prepare reports, including photos, notes, and documentation.
- Coordinate roof replacement projects involving solar panel removal and reinstallation.
- Inspect dismantled solar panels to assess condition and reusability.
- Document damaged equipment and coordinate repair or replacement.
- Ensure proper handling, labeling, and storage of solar panels.
- Assist in identifying and coordinating resolution of roof-related issues associated with solar installations.
- Coordinate with roofers and contractors to determine the root cause of roof leaks or damage.
- Prepare clear documentation for engineering review.
- Maintain service tickets, system status logs, and follow-up records.
- Update internal tracking systems using Smartsheet, Excel, and other company software.
- Prepare operational, maintenance, and performance reports.
Accounting & Administrative Support
- Enter and track hydro/electricity statements and operational data.
- Assist with accounts payable and accounts receivable processing.
- Perform account reconciliations and basic financial analysis.
- Complete bank reconciliations and maintain accurate financial records.
- Assist with bookkeeping, including data entry, journal entries, and ledger updates.
- Prepare reports for budgeting and operational tracking.
- Support payroll documentation and audit preparation.
- Collect, organize, and maintain company records and documentation.
Qualifications
- High school diploma required; post-secondary education in Accounting, Business, Finance, or a related field is an asset.
- Basic knowledge of accounting principles and corporate finance.
- Experience with accounting software such as QuickBooks is an asset.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Smartsheet, and Zoho.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication, problem-solving, and time-management skills.
- Ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities.
Additional Requirements
- Valid Ontario Class G driver's licence.
- Access to a reliable vehicle with valid insurance.
- Willingness to travel for occasional field site visits, inspections, ECU installations, and troubleshooting.
- Ability to safely lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
Travel
This position primarily supports projects throughout the Greater Toronto Area (GTA), with occasional travel to project sites across Ontario, including Windsor, Peterborough, Orillia, Chelmsford, Burlington, London, St. Thomas, Amaranth, Bradford, Hamilton, Lindsay, and Dunsford.
Travel requirements vary based on operational needs and will be scheduled in advance whenever possible. Approved business mileage is reimbursed.
Compensation & Schedule
- Compensation: Minimum wage up to $20/hour, depending on qualifications and experience.
- Schedule: 2–3 days per week, based on operational requirements.
Pay: $17.25-$20.00 per hour
