Senior Manager, Public Accounting (Partner Track)
Faber LLP | Full Time | Permanent
About Faber LLP
Faber LLP is a mid-sized public accounting firm that prides itself on strong relationships, practical advice, and high-quality work. We serve owner-managed businesses, municipalities, non-profits, and professionals, offering tax, audit, assurance, and advisory services that truly add value.
Our firm is partner-led and tax-driven, with a collaborative culture that supports mentorship, flexibility, and long-term growth. We are intentional about how we grow our people and our client base, and we offer a clear and achievable path to partnership for the right individual.
Opportunity?
We are looking for an experienced Senior Manager who is ready for the next stage of their public accounting career and is motivated to move into partnership within the next 18-24 months. This is a high-visibility, leadership role explicitly designed for a candidate ready to assume partnership within 18 to 24 months. You will lead engagements with assurance, non-assurance and tax mandates for owner-managed and mid-market private enterprises, while playing a central role in shaping the firm's quality and practice standards.
In this role, you will work closely with clients, staff, and partners while taking on a leadership position that balances technical work, people development, and business growth. You will be trusted to manage relationships, lead engagements, and represent the firm both internally and in the community.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys meeting new people, building genuine relationships, and being involved in networking and business development activities.
What You Will Be Doing
- Reviewing personal and corporate tax returns
- Reviewing financial statements for compilation and assurance engagements under ASPE and IFRS
- Providing tax planning and advisory support to clients
- Managing a portfolio of small to mid-sized clients
- Manage multi-phase audit lifecycles from planning through sign-off
- Conduct technical accounting standards review under ASPE and apply emerging guidance
- Implement firm-wide assurance quality requirements per ISQM 1 & 2
- Conduct risk assessment, independence monitoring, and annual quality reviews in compliance with provincial CPA body requirements
- Acting as a trusted advisor to business owners and organizations
- Mentoring and developing junior and intermediate staff
- Leading audit and assurance files and overseeing engagement quality
- Participating in community involvement, networking, and business development
- Contributing ideas and improvements to firm processes and operations
You Are a Great Fit for This Role If You:
- Hold a CPA designation. In-depth Tax or other advanced credentials considered an asset
- Have 10 or more years of public accounting experience. Ideally, in Western Canadian markets
- Have at least 3 years of experience in a Senior Manager role
- Are currently in public practice and committed to a long-term career in the profession
- Are ready and motivated to move into partnership within the next 18 -24 months
- Enjoy networking, meeting new people, and building professional relationships
- Prefer a mid-sized firm environment over a large national firm
- Are confident reviewing files, managing audits, and handling complex tax matters
- Are a people person and enjoy mentoring others and helping people grow in their careers
- Are comfortable working in a paperless, cloud-based environment
- Experience with CaseWare Cloud, Jazzit, TaxCycle, QuickBooks, Sage, and Xero is strongly preferred.
