The purpose of this position is to compile orders received from the retail liquor stores, in case lot size, of beer, spirits and wine and to deliver these orders to stores. The warehouse worker is also responsible for unloading shipments of product received at the warehouse from national and international suppliers. The position plays a necessary support role to the retail stores in assisting them to maintain appropriate levels of product for the consumer’s selection.
Duties will include but are not limited to:
- Interpret store orders;
- Operate warehouse equipment, involves safe handling and operation of fork lifts and other handling equipment;
- Compile orders by stacking cases of alcoholic beverages on pallets, this involves strenuous manual lifting;
- Verify accuracy and record shipment of products;
- Meet deadlines by preparing orders on time for scheduled deliveries to stores;
- Follow regulations in the Occupational Health and Safety Act and those of the PEI Liquor Control Commission;
- Abide by the rules of the confidentiality of the position;
- Check orders received at the door (Quantities and Pallets);
- Load liquor orders on delivery truck;
- Responsible for the safe delivery of liquor orders to retail liquor stores- involves operation of truck up to a five (5) ton capacity;
- Unload liquor orders from truck to warehouse section of liquor stores;
- Pick up bottle returns from bottle dealer;
Minimum Qualifications:
- Successful completion of high school diploma, GED program;
- Valid Class 3A driver’s license, with air brake certification;
- Unblemished driving record;
- Experience in driving trucks of five (5) ton capacity;
- Experience in the operation of fork lifts and other material handling equipment;
- Ability to perform routine equipment/building maintenance;
- Ability to work unsupervised;
- Physically fit.
