ONA is seeking to hire a Member Education Coordinator to join our Member Education Team. This posting is for an existing vacancy. Reporting to the Senior Manager, Member Education, the Member Education Coordinator serves as a key educational resource, supporting the planning, coordination, delivery and continuous improvement of member education across ONA.
This is what else you can expect from this dynamic role:
Education Program Coordination
- Coordinate the planning, implementation and evaluation of member education initiatives and educational resources.
- Coordinate the development and maintenance of educational planning resources, learning pathways and annual education calendars.
- Facilitate educational programs and workshops in support of the annual education plan and operational requirements.
- Assist the Senior Manager in coordinating multiple educational initiatives and priorities.
- Monitor workshop scheduling and facilitation assignments and provide recommendations to the Senior Manager to support equitable workload distribution and operational requirements.
- Make recommendations to the Senior Manager regarding educational priorities, resource allocation, process improvements and emerging opportunities.
eLearning Coordination and Educational Technology
- Provide leadership and coordination for member education eLearning initiatives, including development, implementation, maintenance and quality assurance.
- Act as a primary resource to Member Education staff regarding educational technologies, learning management systems and online learning tools.
- Coordinate the ongoing maintenance, review and enhancement of online learning resources and educational content.
- Collaborate with instructional designers and internal partners to support the design, development and continuous improvement of eLearning resources.
- Identify opportunities to enhance the learner experience through technology and innovation and provide recommendations for continuous improvement.
- Collaborate with internal and external partners to support educational technology initiatives.
Staff Development and Educational Support
- Coordinate onboarding, orientation and mentorship activities for new Member Education staff in collaboration with the Senior Manager.
- Develop and maintain onboarding resources and educational support materials.
- Support facilitators in strengthening instructional practices and educational delivery.
- Support knowledge transfer, succession planning and continuous learning initiatives within the Member Education Team.
Quality Assurance and Resource Development
- Assist the Senior Manager in reviewing educational programs, learning resources and project deliverables to ensure quality, consistency and alignment with organizational priorities.
- Review, evaluate and provide guidance regarding learning plans, facilitator guides, presentations, participant resources and educational materials to ensure quality, consistency and alignment with organizational standards.
- Coordinate the development and maintenance of educational templates, facilitator resources and instructional tools.
- Coordinate and lead the review and revision of educational guides, manuals, facilitator resources and organizational educational materials, providing recommendations to the Senior Manager regarding revisions and improvements.
- Collaborate with internal partners to ensure educational content remains current, accurate and aligned with organizational priorities.
- Ensure educational resources reflect accessibility requirements, adult learning principles and best practices.
- Act as a resource regarding educational processes, procedures and resources.
Project Leadership and Continuous Improvement
- Coordinate operational aspects of major educational events and initiatives.
- Support project planning, implementation and evaluation.
- Review educational processes and operational workflows and provide recommendations to the Senior Manager to improve efficiency, consistency and service delivery to members.
- Monitor educational program delivery and identify opportunities to improve responsiveness, accessibility and the member learning experience.
- Assist with the development and maintenance of documentation, procedures and operational resources.
- Collaborate with internal partners to support integrated educational initiatives.
- Support the Senior Manager in implementing strategic initiatives, evaluating outcomes and advancing continuous improvement within the Member Education portfolio.
What we are looking for
- Degree or diploma as a Registered Health Professional and/or in Labour Relations, Industrial Relations or a related discipline.
- Post-secondary education in Adult Education, Instructional Design, Organizational Learning or a related field.
- Certificate in Project Management is considered an asset.
- Five (5) to ten (10) years of progressively responsible experience in adult education, labour relations education, organizational learning or a related field.
- Demonstrated experience coordinating complex educational projects and initiatives.
- Demonstrated ability to review, analyze and improve operational processes and educational systems.
- Demonstrated experience in needs-based educational program development, design, implementation and evaluation.
- Demonstrated facilitation experience using adult learning principles.
- Demonstrated experience in coaching, mentoring and leadership.
- Strong knowledge of adult learning principles, facilitation techniques and instructional design methodologies.
- Demonstrated experience leading or coordinating cross-functional initiatives and building collaborative relationships with internal partners.
- Excellent writing, editing, presentation and interpersonal communication skills.
- Strong organizational, analytical, critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, Microsoft Teams, learning management systems and educational technology platforms.
- Experience with eLearning development tools and instructional design software is considered an asset.
- Familiarity with the labour movement, collective bargaining and labour relations environments is considered an asset.
- Bilingualism in French, both written and verbal, is considered an asset.
A flexible schedule may be required for evening and weekend work related to educational events, conferences and project deadlines.
The successful candidate must be able to travel, possess a valid driver's license and have access to an automobile for business use. Ability to travel across Ontario may also be required.
