Job Overview
The Night Operations Warehouse Manager is responsible for overseeing nighttime warehouse, logistics, dispatch, delivery and pickup operations.
This position will manage and support Night Shift Supervisors, drivers, delivery crews and warehouse employees to ensure trucks leave on time, deliveries and pickups are completed according to schedule, furniture is properly prepared and protected, ensure uniform and time and attendance policies are adhered to and returned inventory is unloaded and processed efficiently.
This is a hands-on operational management position, not a desk-only role. The successful candidate must be comfortable working directly with supervisors and crews on the warehouse floor and loading dock and responding quickly when operational issues arise.
Due to the nature of our operations, the successful candidate must have full-time flexible availability across days, evenings, nights, weekends and holidays as required by the business.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee all evening and overnight warehouse, logistics, dispatch, delivery and pickup operations.
- Lead and supervise Night Shift Supervisors, drivers, delivery crews and warehouse staff, ensuring productivity, attendance, punctuality and company policies are maintained.
- Ensure all trucks, drivers and crews are properly assigned, loaded and dispatched accurately and on time according to the delivery and pickup schedule.
- Monitor deliveries and pickups throughout the shift and quickly resolve delays, staffing, vehicle, venue, loading dock or operational issues.
- Oversee all loading, unloading, load-in and load-out activities, ensuring orders are complete, properly secured and handled safely.
- Ensure furniture is picked, checked, cleaned, wrapped, protected, packed and staged correctly and meets Detailz quality standards before leaving the warehouse.
- Ensure returned furniture is promptly unloaded, properly stored and inspected, with damaged or dirty items identified, separated and reported.
- Maintain a clean, safe and organized warehouse, including loading docks, staging areas, aisles, equipment and work areas.
- Enforce Detailz safety, uniform, time and attendance, operational and workplace policies and address employee performance or conduct issues as required.
- Complete a thorough end-of-shift handover, communicating outstanding deliveries/pickups, damages, truck issues, staffing concerns and required follow-ups to the daytime management team.
Requirements
- Minimum 3 years of experience in warehouse, logistics, transportation, event operations or a similar environment, including supervisory experience.
- Strong leadership, people-management, organizational and time-management skills.
- Experience coordinating dispatch, drivers, deliveries, pickups and warehouse crews in a fast-paced operation.
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and make decisions under pressure.
- Previous experience in event/furniture rentals, event production, transportation or hospitality logistics is preferred.
- Experience with inventory/scheduling systems, GTA event venues and commercial vehicle operations is considered an asset.
