What You’ll Do
In this client-facing role, you’ll support one of our lawyers by ensuring a smooth and welcoming experience for clients.
You’ll be responsible for a wide range of tasks, including:
- Handle administrative tasks with respect to opening and closing files and perform conflict searches.
- Support residential and corporate real estate files from beginning to end of transactions including residential sales, purchases, refinances and new home construction pertaining to Manitoba.
- Prepare interim and final reports.
- Develop and maintain strong working relationships with clients, bankers, realtors and other parties integral to the completion of the transactions.
- Prepare letters to clients and exchange e-mails with clients.
- Open files, conduct title and tax searches, and assist with preparation of documents for purchase, sale and financing transactions in the real estate program Lawyer Done Deal, and to order and place title insurance.
- Prepare various Land Titles documents including Transfers, Mortgages, Caveats, Personal Property Security Notices, Discharges and Requests.
- Assist with completing registrations in applicable Land Titles Offices and Personal Property Registries.
- Scheduling internal and external meetings, phone calls, and Outlook calendar events.
- Preparing invoices, attending to trust account deposits and requisitions, managing holdback accounts all in an electronic accounting program.
- Monitor and respond to phone calls.
- Communicate professionally with all internal lawyers and staff, and external clients, referral sources and government offices.
What We’re Looking For:
- Experienced Legal Assistant - Min 2 years in Real Estate Law
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Comfortable with technology and Microsoft Office (especially Word and Outlook)
- Excellent attention to detail and organization

Pay: $50,000.00-$63,000.00 per year
