Job Summary
In the assigned area of responsibility, retain and develop business opportunities for HYDAC, lead the regional team, and support achievement of sales objectives. This job intends to fill an existing vacancy within the organization.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
The employees’ responsibilities in the role include, but are not limited to:
- Oversee and manage distributor and customer relationships in the assigned region.
- Increase sales and profit margin in the assigned region.
- Implement HYDAC Corporate Sales Strategy.
- Communicate market trends, product competitiveness, and new business opportunities to management and Product Managers for review.
- Regularly review, distribute, and follow up on HYDAC sales leads with assigned distributors.
- Lead weekly and monthly team meetings and one-on-one meetings to support the team, including pipeline and project opportunity reviews.
- Provide HYDAC Corporate with status changes and forecast feedback for major OEM accounts.
- Manage between 2 and 7 employees, including sales managers and possible Application Engineer and/or Market Manager positions assigned to the area.
- Participate in the development of direct reports, including sales reports, budgets, and forecasting.
- Travel extensively depending on the location of direct reports and customers, at times more than 50% of working time.
- Make informed decisions supported by an understanding of HYDAC products, customers, and appropriate applications.
- Establish sales goals and action plans with direct reports to achieve acceptable sales numbers for the assigned area.
- May include direct sales responsibility for assigned accounts or regional sales responsibility.
- Complete annual team member reviews.
- Responsible for all aspects of performance and conduct of Regional Sales Managers in the area. Supervisory responsibility may also include individuals from other departments.
Total Compensation and Employment Perks
- Salary, ranging between $110,000 to $140,000

Qualifications
- Technical degree from an accredited college or university preferred, but not required.
- CFPHS (Certified Fluid Power Hydraulic Specialist) preferred.
- 5–10 years of industrial sales experience.
- 5 years of sales management experience.
- Experience with hydraulic systems, including troubleshooting, designing, and maintaining systems.
- Experience working with distribution partners, large industrial OEM accounts, and MRO accounts.
Skills and Competencies
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, and governmental regulations.
- Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed written or oral instructions.
- Ability to solve problems involving concrete variables in standardized situations.
- Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability, statistical inference, geometry, and trigonometry, and apply fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
- Ability to use Internet software, project management software, spreadsheet software, and word processing software.
- Must be able to read, write, speak, and comprehend English.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills to interface with all levels of a diverse and global organization.
- Strong negotiation skills and ability to handle pricing, delivery performance, and quality challenges with minimal supervision.
- Problem solving: identifies and resolves problems in a timely manner; gathers and analyzes information skillfully; develops alternative solutions.
- Customer service: responds promptly to customer needs and requests for service and assistance.

- Able to develop effective relationships with distributors, regional sales managers, and customers.
- Proficient in customer presentations.
- Computer skills: Microsoft Office suite, Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and CRM.
- Knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, mechanics, automation, fluid dynamics, and the ability to read a drawing or P&ID.
Safety and Personal Protective Equipment
- Must adhere to all safety rules in force for the location in which job responsibilities are performed, including customer or supplier locations.
- Must meet PPE requirements for specific manufacturing areas when in those areas, including, but not limited to safety shoes, safety glasses, hard hat, and vest.
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts, frequently exposed to vibration, and occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles, outside weather conditions, and risk of electrical shock.
- The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
Physical Demands

- Regularly required to stand, use hands to handle or feel, and reach with hands and arms.
- Frequently required to talk or hear.
- Occasionally required to walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
- Must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
- Specific vision abilities required include close vision, colour vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
