YOUR TEAM
At Moment Factory, our Systems Development team helps create interactive experiences and generative installations. We develop both the systems that capture and distribute data and the real-time visual content that powers immersive experiences. We continuously explore emerging multimedia technologies and their potential applications across a wide variety of environments and display formats. The visual quality of our generative content, the overall user experience, and the reliability of the platforms we build are all fundamental to our practice. Our developers are involved throughout the entire project lifecycle from concept and design through delivery. This role also offers opportunities to contribute to internal research and development initiatives.
YOUR MISSION
As a Full Stack Web Developer, you will develop projects that bridge the digital and physical worlds through interactive technologies. You will contribute to every stage of the development lifecycle, from ideation, system design, and architecture through deployment and long-term maintenance. Working alongside agile, multidisciplinary teams, you will build solutions that enable the deployment, control, and monitoring of large-scale immersive experiences around the world.
ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Develop robust frontend and backend solutions to power and connect our interactive experiences (UI design, software architecture, packaging, and deployment).

Design and automate unit, regression, and integration tests.
-
Produce technical design documentation and detailed operational and support documentation for deployed systems.
-
Ensure the long-term reliability and high availability of delivered components by providing operational support to the analyst teams.
-
Research and evaluate new libraries required for the successful delivery of projects.
-
Integrate hardware (sensors, devices) with our software solutions.
-
Connect projects to external data sources (APIs, databases).
-
Develop an understanding of the multimedia protocols used throughout the industry.
-
Build proof-of-concept prototypes to validate technical approaches and new ideas.
-
Deploy code efficiently using our continuous integration and deployment solutions (GitLab, Balena, Docker).
Occasionally advise production teams on the technical feasibility of their creative vision.

YOUR JOURNEY INCLUDES
-
Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in software development.
-
Professional experience developing applications with Node.js.
-
Experience with modern frontend frameworks such as React and Next.js.
-
Strong understanding and practical experience with RESTful architectures and services.
-
Experience writing automated unit tests using frameworks such as Jest or Mocha.
-
Experience working with both relational and non-relational databases (MongoDB, PostgreSQL).
-
Experience deploying applications using Docker, on-premises and cloud services (Kubernetes is an asset).

DevOps experience including logging, monitoring, alerting, performance optimization, and production support.

Experience working collaboratively with Git-based version control workflows (Git, merge requests).

Strong knowledge of web technologies including HTML, JavaScript, and CSS.

Good understanding of responsive interface design across desktop, tablet, and mobile devices.
-
Ability to move comfortably between multiple projects and manage changing priorities (context switching).

Appreciation for and understanding of user-centered design principles.
-
Knowledge of multimedia protocols such as Art-Net, DMX, MIDI, and OSC is an asset.

Professional proficiency in both French and English, written and spoken.

Experience with Node-RED is an asset.

Knowledge of Python is an asset.

Experience with web-based 3D technologies (WebGL, WebAssembly, Unity for Web) is an asset.
