Blüm Academy is a Montessori and Reggio-inspired early learning community focused on creating beautiful, intentional spaces for students, families, and educators. We are seeking a reliable, hands-on Operations & Facilities Support Assistant to provide ongoing support across all of our campuses.

This is an ideal role for someone who enjoys practical, physical work, takes initiative, and likes variety in their day. You'll play an important role in helping our campuses remain safe, organized, and operating smoothly.

Position Overview

We are hiring a permanent part-time Operations & Facilities Support Assistant to support facilities, maintenance, operational projects, and campus needs across our locations.

This position is approximately one 4–5 hour shift per week, with flexibility based on operational needs. Work may include supporting multiple campuses, completing scheduled maintenance tasks, assisting with campus improvements, and helping with occasional special projects or events.

This role is perfect for someone looking for supplemental part-time work, a semi-retired tradesperson, a university student with a flexible schedule, or anyone who enjoys hands-on work and problem-solving.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities may include:

Moving and assembling furniture
Hanging artwork, shelving, and classroom materials
Painting walls and completing touch-ups
Assisting with campus organization and improvements
Replacing air filters and completing basic maintenance tasks
Supporting deliveries, pickups, and supply runs
Organizing storage areas and operational spaces
Assisting with event setup and breakdown
Supporting leadership with operational tasks as needed
Identifying and helping solve practical day-to-day facility needs
General handywork and light repair support
Completing routine inspections and reporting maintenance needs

What We're Looking For

We are seeking someone who is:

Reliable, punctual, and highly dependable
Comfortable with physical labour and hands-on work
Organized, proactive, and self-motivated
Able to work independently with minimal supervision
Resourceful and solution-oriented
Professional, respectful, and adaptable in a school environment
Comfortable lifting and moving furniture and equipment throughout the day

Requirements

Valid driver's license
Access to a reliable vehicle (required)
Ability to lift and move moderately heavy items
Basic handywork or maintenance experience is an asset
Experience in facilities, operations, construction support, moving, event setup, or similar hands-on roles is considered an asset
