Reporting to the Supervisor of Court and File Management, the File Room Clerk plays a key role in supporting RCMP operations through the management of confidential records and information. This position is responsible for processing Access to Information and Privacy (ATIP) requests, maintaining accurate records, and ensuring information is retained, retrieved, and disposed of in accordance with legislative requirements, organizational policies, and approved retention schedules. The incumbent also provides administrative and operational support to RCMP members and detachment staff, contributing to the effective delivery of police services.

Key Responsibilities:
- Process and respond to Access to Information and Privacy (ATIP) requests in compliance with applicable legislation, regulations, and organizational policies
- Liaise with internal and external stakeholders regarding records management, record suspensions, and information disclosure requirements
- Audit, review, and process incoming files and documentation to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance prior to filing
- Retrieve, maintain, and securely dispose of records in accordance with approved retention and disposal schedules
- Accurately transcribe audio and video recordings of accused, victim, and witness statements within established timelines
- Provide file retrieval and records management support to RCMP members and detachment staff
- Coordinate with external agencies and service providers regarding records destruction, shredding services, and file management inquiries
Assist in evaluating records management systems and identifying opportunities to improve business processes and operational efficiency

Qualifications and Skills:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum two years of experience working in a policing environment utilizing electronic management systems
- Proficiency in RCMP software programs (i.e. PROS, CPIC, JOIN/2.0, eCollision/PAT, ROADS) and completion of RCMP PROS End User Course and PROS IM is preferred
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel and Outlook
- Knowledge of records retention schedules and records management best practices
- Understanding of judicial disclosure requirements and information legislation
- Knowledge of records management policies, procedures, and practices
- Ability to handle highly confidential and sensitive information with discretion
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
Demonstrated ability to work independently, manage priorities, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment

- Ability to obtain RCMP Enhanced Reliability Security Clearance
Ability to perform the physical demands of the position, including lifting and moving files and records, frequent bending, and standing or walking for extended periods
