Overview of role:
The Revenue Analytics team provides data products, automation and reporting solutions, business intelligence analytics, and business applications for the Revenue Management & Pricing department within WestJet. As our analytics capabilities continue to evolve, we are expanding our technology footprint through the development of custom applications and integrated solutions that transform data into actionable business value.
Reporting to the Manager – Revenue Analytics, you will be responsible for the design, development, deployment, and ongoing support of internal applications. Working alongside analysts, business stakeholders, and enterprise technology teams, you will build scalable solutions that improve efficiency, streamline processes, and enhance decision-making capabilities of business teams.
This role is ideal for a highly motivated developer who enjoys solving business problems with technology and is comfortable taking ownership from concept through production support. Success in this position requires technical versatility, strong problem-solving and communication skills with both technical and non-technical stakeholders, and the ability to operate effectively within a dynamic enterprise environment. You are an integral part of the growth of our airline as you ensure a consistent understanding, communication of, and approach to meeting strategic goals.
Key deliverables include:
- Design, develop, test, deploy, and support custom applications that enable business decision-making and operational efficiency across Revenue Analytics.
- Build and maintain responsive user interfaces and backend services using modern application development frameworks and technologies.
- Collaborate with analysts and business stakeholders to transform business requirements into scalable, maintainable technical solutions.
- Integrate applications with enterprise data platforms, databases, APIs, and other corporate systems.
- Establish and maintain development best practices including source control, testing, documentation, and deployment processes.
- Troubleshoot and resolve application issues while continuously enhancing the reliability, performance, and user experience of existing solutions.
- Partner with Enterprise Technology teams to ensure applications align with architecture, security, governance, and operational standards.
- Identify and implement opportunities to automate processes, improve workflows, and deliver innovative solutions that create business value.
Experience and qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related technical discipline.
- 5+ years of experience designing, developing, deploying, and supporting business applications in a professional environment.
- Experience developing modern web applications using front-end frameworks such as React, Vue, Angular, Streamlit, or similar technologies.
- Proficiency in one or more backend programming languages such as Python, C#, JavaScript/Node.js, Java, or equivalent.
- Strong experience working with relational databases and SQL such as Snowflake.
- Experience designing and consuming RESTful APIs and system integrations.
- Experience with source control systems and collaborative development practices using Git-based platforms.
- Experience implementing CI/CD pipelines and software delivery best practices.
- Experience working with cloud, enterprise, or data platform technologies.
- Experience supporting production applications and resolving operational issues in a business environment.
- Experience with Snowflake, Azure DevOps, GitHub, Splunk, or similar enterprise technologies is considered an asset.
