What You'll Do
As a Buyer, you will:
- Procure heavy equipment parts, materials, and services in an efficient, timely, and cost-effective manner.
- Expedite orders to ensure parts arrive when needed.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and vendors.
- Source hard-to-find parts while negotiating pricing, availability, and delivery.
- Coordinate logistics and monitor shipments from purchase through delivery.
- Work closely with our Parts, Service, and Sales teams to meet customer requirements.
- Maintain accurate purchasing records and inventory information.
- Assist with vendor performance and cost management.
- Ensure purchasing activities comply with company policies and safety standards.

What We're Looking For
The ideal candidate will have:
- Journeyman Parts/Off-road Technician Certificate (considered an asset)
- Minimum 2 years of experience in heavy equipment maintenance or a related industry with strong mechanical aptitude
- Previous experience sourcing parts or purchasing materials and services
- Experience with dozers, haul trucks, excavators, and other heavy equipment from manufacturers such as Caterpillar, John Deere, Hitachi, and Komatsu (strong asset)
- Experience with expediting and logistics
- Basic understanding of contracts
- Intermediate computer skills, particularly Microsoft Excel
- Strong knowledge of heavy equipment components and parts
- Excellent customer service and relationship-building skills
- Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational and time management abilities
- Ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
- A team-first attitude with the initiative to work independently
- Strong ethics, integrity, and commitment to company policies and procedures
- A genuine commitment to workplace safety
