Admin Assistant

MCG Careers, Inc. is seeking a Part-Time Administrative Assistant on behalf of our employer partner (in the ACTION – Workplace Training Program. Are you organized, detail-oriented, and looking to build your administrative career? Do you enjoy supporting a busy office and working as part of a collaborative team? We are looking for a motivated individual with a positive attitude and strong organizational skills.

Role Overview

Are you someone who enjoys keeping an office running smoothly? This position provides day-to-day administrative and accounting support to the office team. You'll work closely with the Office Manager, assisting with office administration, filing, communication, and basic accounting functions in a supportive, team-focused environment.

Key Responsibilities

· Answer incoming phone calls and direct them to the appropriate team member.

· Manage incoming and outgoing emails.

· Print invoices and payables for processing.

· Maintain accurate and organized filing systems.

· Enter accounts payable into the accounting system.

· Complete account reconciliations as required.

· Support the accounting and administrative team with daily office tasks.

· Maintain confidentiality of company information.

· Work independently while collaborating effectively with the team.

· Ensure office records are accurate and up to date.

Required Qualifications

· Excellent organizational and multitasking skills.

· Strong verbal and written communication skills.

· Positive, professional, and dependable attitude.

· Strong attention to detail and accuracy.

· Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.

· Comfortable using Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel).

· Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Preferred / Asset Experience

· Previous administrative or office support experience is considered an asset.

· Experience with accounts payable or basic bookkeeping.

· Experience in the landscaping or construction industry is an asset.

· Strong problem-solving skills.

· Experience using accounting software is considered an asset.

ACTION – Workplace Training Program Requirements

To qualify for this opportunity through the ACTION Program, applicants must meet the following criteria:

· Must be unemployed at the time of intake.

· Ready, willing, and able to work (part-time position).

· Not currently enrolled in any program or school.

*Must be able to travel to Okotoks for interview and intake*
