Siwin Foods Ltd. is seeking an experienced Maintenance Technician (Mechanical) to join our maintenance team. This position is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, repairing, and overhauling food processing and packaging equipment to ensure maximum production efficiency and minimal downtime.
The ideal candidate is a hands-on mechanical technician who can work independently, solve equipment problems efficiently, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns and minimize production downtime.
- Diagnose and repair mechanical failures on food processing and packaging equipment.
- Perform preventive maintenance (PM) according to the maintenance schedule.
- Conduct routine inspections, lubrication, cleaning, adjustments, and equipment servicing.
- Independently perform major equipment repairs and overhauls.
- Install, replace, and align mechanical components, bearings, gearboxes, belts, chains, pumps, and conveyors.
- Troubleshoot and repair hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
- Assist with equipment installation, commissioning, and production line improvements.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records and complete work orders.
- Follow all food safety, GMP, health & safety, and company policies.
- Work closely with production, sanitation, and quality teams to maximize equipment reliability.
Qualifications
Required
- Minimum 3 years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably in the food processing industry.
- Strong mechanical troubleshooting and repair skills.
- Experience with hydraulic systems, pneumatic systems, bearings, mechanical seals, conveyors, pumps, and gearboxes.
- Ability to independently diagnose equipment problems and complete repairs with minimal supervision.
- Experience performing major equipment overhauls.
- Strong problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Willingness to work overtime or weekends when required.
Preferred Assets
- Industrial Mechanic (Millwright) certification or apprenticeship experience.
- Welding and metal fabrication experience.
- Basic PLC troubleshooting experience.
- Experience with food processing and packaging equipment.
- Forklift, Scissor Lift, or Boom Lift certification.

Work Location: 5520-34th Street Edmonton
Work Hours: 7:00am-3:30pm (AM Shift)
