Job Summary

The Service Technician is responsible for providing in-house technical support, customer service, repair, testing, and inspection services for Fortress Inspection Systems. This role requires strong technical troubleshooting skills, excellent customer service, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively to ensure customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities

Diagnose, troubleshoot, repair, and wire Fortress Inspection Systems (for example: Metal Detector, Xray, Checkweigher).
Perform quality control inspections and functional testing of repaired equipment.
Provide in-house customer support by responding to customer inquiries via phone and email.
Complete repair evaluations, product testing, and detailed service reports.
Maintain accurate repair documentation and technical records.
Work collaboratively with Production, Engineering, Sales, and other internal departments to resolve technical and customer issues.
Follow company quality and safety standards.
Perform other duties as assigned.

Education

Diploma in Electronics Technology, Electro-Mechanical Technology, or a related technical field.

Qualifications & Skills

Excellent customer service skills with a demonstrated commitment to customer satisfaction.
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
Mechanical aptitude and experience repairing technical equipment.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
Professional telephone manner.
Ability to communicate effectively with customers and internal departments.
Strong organizational and computer skills.
Experience preparing clear technical reports and documentation.
Self-motivated, energetic, and able to work independently.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.

Working Conditions

Primarily based on-site at Fortress Technology's manufacturing and repair facility.
Occasional work in various customer production and manufacturing environments.
Frequent sitting and standing while diagnosing, repairing, wiring, and testing equipment.
Travel to customer sites using company vehicles.
Overnight travel may be required, with hotel accommodations provided when servicing customers outside the local area.
