We provide mobile service to customer sites and perform larger repairs at our workshop in Broxburn Business Park This position is ideal for a technician who enjoys variety, can work independently, and wants to be part of a smaller company where initiative and teamwork are valued.

Your Role
- Efficiently diagnose and repair machinery and lift equipment based on customer needs. (Strong Electrical diagnostic skills an asset.)
- Build strong relationships and rapport with customers by clearly communicating job scopes and repair requirements.
- Complete tasks as directed by the Service Coordinator, providing regular updates and working in a team environment to reach the common goal.
- Coordinate with the Parts department to prepare all required parts for site visits.
- Complete work order forms, warranty paperwork, and maintain accurate, organized records.
- Follow manufacturer and company safety policies
- Maintain clean, organized work environments at all job sites.
- Read and interpret service data, schematics, technical manuals, and written or diagram-based instructions.
- Perform shop-based repairs, inspections, and preventative maintenance when not dispatched, ensuring the rental fleet is safe and ready to go.
Experience Required
- Minimum Red Seal Designation or equivalent
- Background in aerial equipment preferred.
- Strong technical knowledge and understanding of diesel and spark ignition engines, electrical schematics, hydraulic schematics, and control systems.
- Skilled in electrical troubleshooting, with experience diagnosing continuity issues, voltage drops, shorts, and interpreting complex electrical schematics
- Proficient in diagnosing and repairing hydraulic systems, including troubleshooting hydraulic circuits, replacing seals, fittings, valves, and understanding pressure and flow dynamics
- Skilled in using diagnostic software and computer-based tools for troubleshooting and system analysis, with the ability to interpret diagnostic data effectively
- Equipped with a set of essential tools required for diagnostic and repair tasks
- Valid driver’s license and suitable driving record for operating a company service truck.
- Solution-oriented and able to work independently with little supervision
Preferences
- Experience with Genie, JLG, Bobcat, and Skyjack equipment, plus generators, small engines, and air compressors, is an asset.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills; comfortable interacting with customers on-site.
- Able to interpret written, oral, diagram, or schematic instructions.
- Proactive individual with the ability to work independently in the field
- Field service experience is preferred; in-shop training and support are available as needed
