Our client is looking for an experienced
Software Developer to join their team, supporting the design, development, and enhancement of critical payment and banking settlement solutions. This is an exciting opportunity to work on high-volume, mission-critical payment systems that enable secure, reliable, and real-time financial transactions.
The successful candidate will have hands-on experience developing solutions within the Canadian payments ecosystem, particularly around
Real-Time Rails (RTR) and
Interac e-Transfers. Experience working with
Payments Canada standards, frameworks, or initiatives would be considered a strong asset.
Responsibilities-
Design, develop, test, and maintain software supporting banking settlement and payment processing platforms.

Develop and enhance solutions related to Real-Time Rails (RTR), Interac e-Transfers, and other electronic payment services.

Build scalable, secure, and high-performing applications capable of processing high transaction volumes.

Collaborate with product owners, architects, business analysts, and QA teams to deliver payment solutions.

Participate in system design, code reviews, testing, and production support.

Troubleshoot production issues and implement sustainable solutions.

Ensure applications meet security, regulatory, and compliance requirements within the financial services industry.

Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, automation, and best development practices.
Required Qualifications-
Proven experience as a Software Developer within banking, financial services, or payments.

Strong understanding of banking settlements and payment processing.

Experience developing enterprise-grade applications and APIs.

Strong understanding of software engineering best practices, including version control, testing, and CI/CD.

Experience working in Agile development environments.

Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Qualifications-
Experience working with Payments Canada standards, initiatives, or payment modernization programs.

Experience integrating with payment gateways or financial messaging platforms.

Knowledge of ISO 20022 messaging standards.

Experience working in highly regulated financial environments.

Cloud platform experience (Azure, AWS, GCP, Databricks) is an asset.

Experience with containerization, microservices, or event-driven architectures is beneficial.
