The Opportunity
The Ottawa Senators are seeking an energetic, detail-oriented professional to join us as a Coordinator, Marketing Events and Promotions. This is an excellent opportunity to join an NHL franchise in an event focused position which will allow the candidate to become fully engaged in the business of a major league sports team.
The Coordinator, Marketing Events and Promotions, is a unique role focused on developing memorable fan experiences with the Ottawa Senators and guests of Canadian Tire Centre. Responsibilities include planning, supporting and executing events, marketing programs and fan communication. The successful candidate will have a can-do attitude, ability to connect with fans and guests in a positive way and be able to lead a small team of part-time staff. This role requires attendance at certain game days and events outside standard business hours.

Key Responsibilities
Street Team
- Lead Sens Street Team, identifying and confirming attendance at key events within the community
- Interview, hire and schedule Brand Ambassadors for events, while supplying event summaries in advance of executions
- Support in development and execution of event and marketing programs, including submitting requests, identifying, and managing giveaways, developing copy, receiving approvals and moving projects towards the finish line
Promotions
- Support in planning and execution of all Ottawa Senators promotional nights (theme games, community nights and giveaways)
- Book part time staffing for game night activations
- Book live music for venue restaurant spaces for game nights
- Write collateral and material for promotions
- Work collaboratively with cross functional departments to bring events and activations from concept to completion
- Organize and track giveaway and promotional inventory
- Work with external stakeholders to order promotional items and game day equipment rentals
Qualifications (what we look for)
- Degree in Communications, Public Relations, Sports Management, Marketing, or a related field.
- Minimum of one (1) year of experience in community relations, public relations, or event management.
- Bilingual (English & French) is a strong asset
- Valid Drivers License
- Strong organizational and multi-tasking skills.
- Excellent oral and written communications skills.
- Proven ability to build relationships and collaborate with multiple stakeholders.
- Strong event management skills with history of leading successful events, activations and/or experience.
- Willingness and ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Excellent time management skills with ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
- Ability to remain flexible and adaptable in a fast-paced environment
- Strong collaboration skills, maintaining a team mentality
- Excellent attention to detail
- Passionate about the sports and/or entertainment industry

This role falls within a base salary range of $41,100 to $62,900 annually, consistent with the organization’s established salary ranges. Salary ranges are determined through a wide variety of factors including but not limited to market data, internal equity, education, relevant experience, knowledge, and applicable skillset.
