- Baccalauréat en comptabilité requis; diplôme de deuxième cycle privilégié (MBA, maîtrise en comptabilité ou équivalent).
- Plus de 10 ans d’expérience en comptabilité, notamment en supervision des processus de clôture financière mensuelle et en analyse du bilan et de l’état des résultats. Une expérience au sein d’un cabinet comptable du « Big Four » constitue un atout.
- Capacité à évoluer dans un environnement dynamique et en constante évolution. Aime remettre en question le statu quo et promouvoir le changement.
- Expérience des systèmes ERP d’envergure (Sage, Prophet 21, Epicor). Une expérience en intégration d’entreprises à des systèmes ERP est considérée comme un atout.
- Excellente maîtrise d’Excel et solides compétences en analyse de données.
- Bilinguisme (français et anglais) requis.
- Grande attention aux détails et souci de l’exactitude.
- Excellentes aptitudes en communication et en relations interpersonnelles.

Job Description
The Controller - Questar Canada is accountable for all aspects of corporate accounting, including financial reporting and budgeting for Questar Canada, the Distribution business within Mauser’s North American Industrial Packaging division in Canada. This position reports to the Questar Director, Finance and Accounting and will support a $50M distribution business of various metal and plastic packaging products across North America. The position will be based in Montreal, Canada.
Areas of accounting responsibility encompass all topics including but not limited to revenue, inventory, expenditures, among other accounting topics of a distribution business. In addition to technical accounting expertise, process and control proficiency is critical. This role is expected to identify improvement opportunities and take the initiative to drive those improvements.
The successful candidate must exhibit communication, leadership and influencing skills, both with direct reports and with peers across the organization. We expect this individual to be driven, with an appetite to increase scope in department through leveraged efficiency gains. The candidate must approach work with both a strategic and tactical mindset, seeking to implement better methods while also meeting the immediate deliverables.
Responsibilities:
• Manage full cycle month-end close process for Questar Canada including oversight of staff and responsibilities including:
- Technical and process ownership of accounting (Revenue, Inventory, Expenditures)
- Collaborate with business leaders to assess accounting implications of various business situations (e.g., customer contracts or rebates, leases, etc.)
- Oversee and review judgemental reserves
- Balance sheet reconciliations
- Lead FP&A and budgeting/forecasting processes
- Support external audit process
- Investigation and explanation of results and variances
- Various ad-hoc topics, analysis, and special projects
- Continually seek to drive continuous improvement and efficiency on behalf of Questar and the Mauser organization
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting; Graduate level degree preferred (MBA, Master of Accounting)
- 10+ years of accounting experience, including month-end close oversight and BS/PL Analytics with Big 4 accounting firm experience preferred
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment. Enjoys agitating status quo.
- Large ERP system experience (Sage, Prophet 21, Epicor) with background in onboarding businesses to ERP’s preferred
- Strong Excel skills a must, strong data analytics
- Bilingual in French and English required
- Strong attention to detail required
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- CPA certification preferred
