Service Operations is a multidisciplinary and agile application support function responsible for real‑time system monitoring, technical troubleshooting of complex applications, incident management, and global market checks. The team supports our business, development, and DevOps departments across all mission‑critical environments, ensuring reliable 24/6 operational coverage.
We are seeking an Application Support Specialist with deep technical and financial experience in market connectivity, trading platforms, and real‑time financial systems. You will support and enhance our proprietary index and market‑data platforms across distributed Linux environments, ensuring stability, accuracy, and operational excellence.
This role is ideal for someone who thrives in fast‑paced environments, understands front‑to‑back trade flows, and can lead technical resolution, real‑time monitoring, incident handling, and projects with confidence.
Production Support & Incident Management

Provide L1/L2 support for business-critical trading and market-data applications.

Monitor Linux-based production environments and resolve real-time operational issues.

Act as the primary point of contact for business users, delivering timely support and clear communication.

Lead incident management activities, including triage, escalation, stakeholder communication, and root-cause analysis.

Own incidents, tickets, and service requests end-to-end while ensuring SLA compliance.

Support change, release, and deployment activities following ITIL best practices.
Technical Support & Platform Stability

Troubleshoot issues across market connectivity, APIs, databases, data feeds, and distributed systems.

Analyse application logs, system behaviour, and complex datasets to identify and resolve issues.

Execute database changes and optimise SQL queries.

Partner with development, infrastructure, and business teams to maintain platform stability.

Proactively identify recurring issues and drive permanent solutions.
Stakeholder & Service Management

Build trusted relationships with business users across global locations including Hong Kong, Frankfurt, and Toronto.

Translate business requirements into technical actions and operational improvements.

Lead projects and operational initiatives independently.

Ensure critical issues are acknowledged, communicated, and escalated within agreed service levels.
Continuous Improvement

Improve monitoring, automation, operational processes, and support workflows.

Maintain runbooks, support documentation, and knowledge articles.

Mentor junior team members and contribute to a culture of operational excellence, teamwork, and accountability.
Experience
-
5+ years of Application Support, Production Support, or Technical Support experience within financial markets.

Experience supporting trading platforms, market-data systems, or other real-time business-critical applications.

Strong understanding of trade lifecycle processes, market connectivity, and production operations.
Technical Skills-
Strong Linux administration and troubleshooting experience.

Advanced SQL skills.

Experience with monitoring tools such as ELK, Kibana, Grafana, or similar platforms.

Knowledge of APIs, distributed systems, job schedulers, and system integrations.

Strong understanding of Incident, Change, and Release Management processes.
Desirable-
Experience within market-making, derivatives, or multi-asset trading environments.

Scripting experience with Bash and/or Python.
