POSITION SUMMARY
The Vice President, Impact & Accountability serves as the strategic architect of United Way Centraide Windsor-Essex Chatham-Kent’s organization-wide performance and impact framework. Reporting directly to the Chief Executive Officer and serving as a member of the Senior Management Team, the Vice President leads the design, implementation, and continuous refinement of the organization’s key performance indicator (KPI) architecture, evaluation strategy, and impact measurement systems.
This role ensures that data across community impact, resource development, marketing, operations, and finance is aligned, measurable, and translated into actionable insights that strengthen decision-making, funding allocation, revenue growth, and community outcomes. Working collaboratively with the CEO, Senior Management Team, and Boards of Directors, the Vice President stewards organizational performance reporting and advances a culture of data-informed strategy and continuous improvement.
The Vice President also plays a critical cross-functional leadership role, supporting Salesforce optimization, impact reporting to funders and government partners, investment strategy development including expansion in Chatham-Kent, and the translation of community impact into compelling evidence that strengthens donor engagement and philanthropic confidence.
This is a highly collaborative executive role that bridges internal performance management with external accountability and community credibility.

Duties –
Organizational Performance & KPI Architecture
- Lead the design, implementation, and ongoing refinement of the organization-wide performance framework, including development and periodic redesign of key performance indicators aligned with the strategic plan and community impact objectives.
- Partner with the Chief Executive Officer and Senior Management Team to establish outcome measures and performance expectations across all departments.
- Develop and oversee structured processes for cross-departmental KPI reporting and conduct regular performance review discussions with Vice Presidents to assess progress, challenges, and alignment.
- Analyze organizational performance data to identify trends, performance gaps, emerging risks, and opportunities for strategic improvement.
- Provide data-informed recommendations to the CEO and Senior Management Team to guide strategic adjustments, operational improvements, and funding allocation considerations.
- Contribute to the evolution of performance management practices by aligning organizational KPIs with departmental accountability structures over time.
- Prepare and co-present organization-wide performance reports to the Boards of Directors and relevant committees in partnership with the CEO.
- Embed continuous improvement principles into annual planning cycles, departmental reviews, and executive decision-making processes.
Community Impact Measurement & Investment Strategy
- Provide strategic leadership for the organization’s evaluation and impact measurement practices through oversight of the Impact & Accountability team.
- Monitor and analyze progress toward Cradle to Career milestones and other community impact priorities, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives.
- Guide the development, refinement, and implementation of evaluation frameworks that assess program effectiveness and community outcomes.
- Oversee the collection, validation, and interpretation of impact data to ensure credibility and integrity in reporting.
- Participate in ProsperUs and Investors Table discussions by presenting and interpreting outcome data to support informed investment conversations.
- Design and support community needs assessments and regional data analysis to inform growth initiatives, including expansion in Chatham-Kent.
- Convene and facilitate data-informed problem-solving working groups to address performance gaps and strengthen solution effectiveness.
- Provide evidence-based recommendations to improve programming, inform new solution design, and enhance overall community impact.
- Collaborate with community partners and cross-sector stakeholders to strengthen shared data practices and ecosystem-level learning.
- Represent United Way in community data conversations and evaluation-focused forums to strengthen credibility and thought leadership.
Revenue, Philanthropy & Stakeholder Impact Reporting
- Translate organizational performance and community impact data into compelling insights that strengthen donor engagement, major gift cultivation, workplace campaigns, and philanthropic confidence.
- Collaborate with the Development and Brand teams to align impact reporting with fundraising strategy, donor communications, and brand positioning.
- Provide data analysis and performance evidence to support grant applications, government funding requests, and corporate partnership proposals.
- Contribute to donor segmentation and campaign strategy discussions by identifying trends, engagement patterns, and opportunities for revenue growth.
- Support reporting to the Investors Table, affinity groups, and other stakeholder committees by ensuring accurate and meaningful presentation of outcomes and return on investment.
- Identify opportunities to leverage impact data to diversify revenue streams and strengthen long-term financial sustainability.
Data Systems Leadership & Salesforce Optimization
- Lead the strategic optimization and integration of Salesforce and related data systems to ensure alignment with organizational performance measurement and fundraising objectives.
- Collaborate with the Senior Vice President of Finance & Operations to strengthen data governance, system integrity, and reporting infrastructure across departments.
- Oversee the development of dashboards, reporting tools, and data visualization processes that support executive decision-making and Board reporting.
- Ensure that impact, revenue, and operational data systems are aligned to reduce duplication, improve accuracy, and enhance organizational insight.
- Identify opportunities to improve system configuration, data quality, and workflow automation to increase efficiency and effectiveness.
- Advance the responsible and strategic use of emerging technologies, including analytics and AI-enabled tools, to enhance forecasting, segmentation, and performance monitoring.
Cross-Functional & Team Leadership & Capacity Building
- Facilitate shared accountability across departments by reinforcing alignment between organizational KPIs and departmental priorities.
- Support the Chief Executive Officer in advancing a culture of data-informed leadership and continuous improvement across the organization.
- Ensure alignment between impact objectives, revenue strategy, operational priorities, and marketing initiatives through cross-departmental collaboration.
- Provide leadership and oversight to the Impact & Accountability team, ensuring strong analytical capability, collaboration, and alignment with organizational priorities.
- Foster a culture of rigor, learning, and innovation within the function.
- Build organizational capacity for data literacy and outcome measurement by supporting departments in strengthening reporting practices and interpretation of results.
- Assess and evolve the structure of the Impact & Accountability function to meet emerging organizational and community needs.
Governance & Organizational Executive Leadership
- Collaborate with the CEO to advance the organization’s strategic vision, community and organizational impact, and long-term sustainability.
- Serve as a core member of the Senior Leadership Team, contributing to enterprise-wide strategy, organizational performance, and effective cross-functional leadership.
- Provide strategic counsel to the CEO and Board of Directors on organizational effectiveness, performance, trends, and impact.
- Monitor and assess emerging sector trends, risks, and opportunities to inform strategy and serve as a member of the Senior Management Team, contributing to organizational strategy, annual planning, and executive decision-making.
- Bring performance insights and evidence-based analysis into executive discussions to inform strategic direction and risk management.
Technical Skills –
- Familiarity with ETL processes and data integration practices used to consolidate program, donor, and community datasets.
- Experience working with dashboard and data visualization tools such as Power BI or comparable platforms to support executive and Board-level reporting.
- Working knowledge of CRM systems such as Salesforce, including understanding of data structure, reporting functionality, and integration with warehouse systems.
- Understanding of geospatial and community-level datasets, including familiarity with tools such as QGIS or similar mapping platforms, considered an asset.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel for data analysis, modeling, and KPI tracking.
- Strong understanding of data governance, data integrity standards, and ethical data management practices.
- Ability to translate complex technical outputs into clear strategic insights for senior leadership and community stakeholders.
EDUCATION
- Bachelor’s degree in social sciences, public administration, evaluation, data analytics, education, community development, or a related field required.
- Master’s degree in evaluation, public policy, research methods, data science, community development, or related discipline preferred.
- Formal training in evaluation methodology, research design, statistics, or performance measurement strongly preferred.
EXPERIENCE
- Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in evaluation, performance measurement, data analytics, community impact, or applied research roles.
- Demonstrated experience designing and implementing KPI frameworks that align program delivery with measurable outcomes.
- Strong experience working directly with program teams to develop logic models, outcome measures, and practical reporting tools.
- Experience analyzing complex community or social service data and translating findings into actionable program improvements.
- Experience facilitating data-informed discussions with frontline staff and community stakeholders.
- Experience monitoring population-level indicators and aligning program outcomes to broader community goals.
- Experience supporting grant reporting, government accountability frameworks, or funder outcome requirements.
- Experience managing or mentoring evaluation or data staff.
Other Requirements
- The successful candidate must provide a current police and vulnerable sector check upon hire and annually thereafter.

Contract Details
- Permanent, Full-time position; 35 hours per week
Working Environment
- Hybrid Work Model: combination of remote and in-office/in-community responsibilities across Windsor-Essex and Chatham-Kent.
- Flexible Schedule: Occasional mornings, evenings, and weekends may be required. Flexibility is essential to support community-based work.
- Travel Requirements: This role requires regular travel throughout the community, including locations not accessible by public transit. A valid G-class driver’s license and reliable access to a vehicle during and outside of regular working hours are essential. Mileage is reimbursed in accordance with the UWWECK Mileage Reimbursement Policy.
