Position Summary
The Marketing & Communications Coordinator is responsible for planning, creating, and executing marketing and communications initiatives that support both EMBERS Staffing Solutions and EMBERS' charitable mission. This role combines digital marketing, social media management, content creation, event marketing, website management, graphic design, and business development support to increase brand awareness, generate leads, strengthen community engagement, and support fundraising initiatives.
The ideal candidate is creative, organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable managing multiple projects while working collaboratively across departments.
Key ResponsibilitiesSocial Media Management
- Develop, create, schedule, and publish engaging content across Instagram, Facebook, and LinkedIn.
- Grow EMBERS' social media presence with a strategic focus on expanding awareness of EMBERS Staffing Solutions while continuing to support the charity brand.
- Manage and create content for the CEO's LinkedIn profile.
- Monitor social media channels daily by responding to comments, messages, and engaging with audiences.
- Track social media performance and recommend improvements based on analytics.
Digital Marketing
- Manage and optimize Google Ads, including the Google for Nonprofits Ad Grant (experience considered an asset).
- Plan, launch, and optimize Meta and LinkedIn advertising campaigns to support staffing recruitment and business development.
- Maintain and optimize Google Business Profiles for all branch locations, including responding to customer reviews and updating business information.
Email Marketing
- Manage email marketing campaigns using Flodesk.
- Create newsletters and promotional campaigns supporting:
- Fundraising initiatives
- Golf Tournament
- Silent Auction
- Business development
- Organizational announcements
- Maintain and grow mailing lists while monitoring campaign performance.
Marketing & Communications
- Develop marketing materials and written content supporting both EMBERS Staffing Solutions and EMBERS Charity.
- Review and improve lead generation systems, customer journeys, and marketing workflows.
- Respond to marketing requests from internal departments including Staffing, Training, and Administration.
- Research and prepare submissions for industry, business, and community awards.
Website Management & SEO
- Maintain content across:
- embersstaffing.com
- emberscanada.org
- Write, publish, and optimize blog content.
- Implement SEO best practices to improve search engine rankings.
- Work toward achieving first-page Google rankings for strategic staffing and employment-related keywords across target markets including Vancouver, Surrey, Fraser Valley, Vancouver Island, Edmonton, and Calgary.
Event & Campaign Planning
Coordinate marketing and communications for organizational events including:
- Annual Golf Tournament
- Silent Auction
- Gift of Work (100 Boots Campaign)
- Staff Town Halls
- Staff Christmas Party
- Staffing Worker Christmas Party

- Conducting sponsor outreach
- Coordinating silent auction donations
- Tracking budgets and finances
- Communicating with sponsors, volunteers, and staff
- Developing promotional materials and marketing campaigns
Graphic Design
Design professional marketing materials including:
- Social media graphics
- Information sheets
- Presentations
- Letterheads
- Postcards
- Event signage
- Golf Tournament assets
- Annual Reports
- Digital and print collateral
Utilize Adobe Creative Suite to produce high-quality branded materials.
QualificationsRequired
- Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Graphic Design, Business, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- 2+ years of experience in marketing, communications, or digital marketing.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience managing social media platforms professionally.
- Excellent organizational and project management skills.
- Strong graphic design abilities using Adobe Creative Suite.
- Experience managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Assets
- Experience with Google Ads and Google Ad Grants.
- Experience running Meta Ads and LinkedIn Ads.
- Knowledge of SEO and website optimization.
- Experience with WordPress or similar CMS platforms.
- Email marketing experience using Flodesk or similar platforms.
- Event planning and fundraising experience.
- Experience in recruitment, staffing, nonprofit, or social enterprise organizations.

Pay: $38,501.00-$73,811.48 per year
