Job Description:
The Senior Technical Specialist – ERP Deployment & Cutover is responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing the technical deployment of an Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system. This role plays a critical part in ensuring a smooth transition from a legacy system to the new ERP environment, minimizing downtime and business disruption during cutover.
The incumbent actively participates in the User Acceptance Testing (UAT) phase to develop a deep understanding of system functionality, business processes, and integration points. Through this involvement, the role ensures readiness to support deployment activities, anticipate technical and operational challenges, and effectively execute cutover plans. This early engagement enables the specialist to validate deployment assumptions, refine runbooks, and contribute to a successful and efficient G o- Li ve.
The incumbent is also responsible for managing contracted technical resources and working alongside colleagues in Information Technology Services (ITS) as part of the remaining project phases with strength in leading activities during User Acceptance Testing (UAT) to build a comprehensive understanding of system functionality, end-to-end business processes, and integration dependencies. The incumbent will bring executing deployment strategies as well as overseeing environment and data migration activities, and leading large-scale cutover events. The incumbent will direct mock cutovers, establish robust runbooks and rollback plans, and guide G o- L ive decision-making in high-risk, time-sensitive environments. Experience influencing senior stakeholders, managing cross-functional teams, and proactively identifying and mitigating risks to ensure production readiness is essential .
Required Qualifications:
Education & Training
Minimum four (4) year Degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Information Security, or Computer Systems Technology.
Equivalent combination of relevant education and work experience may be accepted in place of formal education.
Microsoft Certified Solutions Associate, Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert
Cloud certifications (AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud)
DevOps certifications (e.g., CI /CD, release management tools )
ITIL Certification
ERP platform certifications (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics) are considered an asset.
Minimum ten (10 ) years of progressive IT technical experience with strong knowledge of cloud computing, architecture and design, risk assessments and best practices and one (1) year of other related experienc e.
E xperience supporting enterprise system implementations, with a strong focus on ERP deployment, release management, and cutover activities.
Experience in documenting system processes, schemas and developing technical guides.
Experience coordinating environments, managing data migrations, and executing production deployments is essential, along with demonstrated participation in cutover planning, mock cutovers, and G o- L ive support. Experience in documenting system processes, schemas and developing technical guides, and developing and implementing Identity and Access Management controls within Azure.
Experience developing complex architectures involving multiple systems, numerous types of integrations /application programming interfaces, databases and combinations of SaaS, Azure and on-premises systems.
Experience should include:
Active directory, Azure Active Directory, Azure Governance
Architecture experience.
Strong ability to communicate clearly and effectively.
Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel required .
Strong attention to detail and documentation skills required .
Ability to work with vendors and partners in a professional manner .
Hands on experience with database administration and server administration is an asset.
