Our Bus Operations West Office is seeking an experienced Supervisor, Bus Garage Operations to ensure that bus service is reliably provided each day, with significant attention to efficiency, safety, and customer experience in alignment with the mandate and commitments of Metrolinx.
Location and Shift Details - Streetsville Garage, Various shifts and Off days depending on business needs
Valid Truck and Coach Technician (310T) certification with Interprovincial Red Seal is required
What will I be doing?
What Skills and Qualifications Do I Need?
- Completion of a high school diploma – or a combination of education, training and experience deemed equivalent
- Demonstrated years of experience as a Truck and Coach Technician, preferably with supervisory experience in a unionized environment
- Must have a valid Ontario Class “G” driver’s licence and meet the corporate standard for a good driving record.
- Valid Truck and Coach Technician (310T) certification with Interprovincial Red Seal is required
- Automotive Service Technician (310S) designation is an asset
- Must have the ability to obtain and maintain Ontario Class “C” driver’s licence and “Z” endorsement
- Must successfully complete environmental, safety and any other training required by corporate policy
- Detailed knowledge of heavy transit vehicle maintenance and repair, performed to manufacturers specifications, proficiency in the reading of schematics and state of the art transit and mechanical technology
- Knowledge of garage management practices, preventative maintenance theory, and pertinent Ministry of Transportation-Ontario, Ministry of Environment, and legislated Ministry of Labour requirements.
- Ability to supervise and organize the work output of several work units
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office word processing and spreadsheet applications, and data entry an asset
- Good oral and written communication skills and the ability to establish effective working relationships.
